Thursday blues

I’m out there waiting for my bus. I could see the driver working his way towards me. I’m joined by another passenger. The bus is in the other lane pulling away from us. WTF? We looked at each other. I noticed the driver bus #183 Clairview/Abbotsfield. I had a train to catch and books to buy. My train took off without me. My hopes of getting to Audrey’s on time were fading fast. I figured maybe I could still make the connection. I got to the front of the train and ok, it’s 4:30pm. I might have some time. The train pulled into Corona and at the front of the train getting off for the escalator but the escalator was out of order. I wasn’t going to walk up and then walk up another flight of stairs. That wasn’t the end of it. I’m walking up behind First Edmonton Place through the parking lot ready to cross. This one car pulls in just to my left and allows me continue. I take one step and this idiot in this huge SUV cuts me off and almost kills me. I gave him the finger and let him know I was pissed off. I was really pissed crossing the street chirping away at him like a squawking chicken I was really pissed off and let him know about it. I should have gone over to his vehicle and dumped a can of diet Coke on his passenger handle door. Next time that happens and someone does that, I’m going to let him have it that way. I really wanted to go in and pick up J’s book waiting there for me, but I’ll go in this afternoon instead, if that driver picks me up doing his job like he’s supposed to. The only good part about today was I got my cheque with all my hours and my stat pay. I had a slow start to this evening pulling in $270 and 2 credit card sales. When I got home, the other bit of good news is Edmonton beat out LA 5-4. Good stuff.

This job is really pissing me off now. Rob’s working us right to 9pm which means I don’t get home until 10pm. The other thing, with this disclaimer makes the job even harder. In the past we never had to say, Jim calling from Company on behalf of Charity. We never had to say who we’re with. It was just enough to say the Charity. Now we got to do all this other stuff. By just saying the Charity made it sound like we were calling just with the Charity. Now it makes us sound third party and no one wants anything to do with a third party fundraising group. Because of this our sales are down. I haven’t been utilizing the disclaimer which is why my sales are better during the evening then during the day. It’s really tough. Plus these pause times and all. Beginning next week, they are going to have peoples hours trimmed to reflect pause times. Not only that, but I still have to fight for my pay cheque every week. It’s time to get another job. I might even go for Pizza. At least it’s an in bound call center. I’m going to give Xl, one last chance: During the OTH run we were told that the team that has the most wins gets a grand $2,500 prize. Our team won the most rounds and if we don’t get the $300 each, then I’ll be looking for another job. But I’m going to be asking Rob about the team bonuses and my Cw sales. “Nothing’s come in yet.” “Rob, we made these sales in December before the staff party. These sales were made something like 10 weeks ago and invoices haven’t come in yet?” I find this hard to believe.

I’ve got a few places in mind to apply. Pizza, Stats Canada, Atco, just to name a few. I’d hate to leave Xl but a job at anyone of the 3 above would help. I like SC because it sounds more challenging. I won’t take the first job that comes along. Rob has until the end of this month, not that he has received an ultimatum from me.

I wanted to get some writing done tonight but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen.

Anyway, that’s all for now

e. Jim
