A full post for today

I got up about just after noon and watched the noon hour news. I’m currently onto my first coffee of the day.

Temperature right now is -4C and there doesn’t appear to be a wind chill. This week I’ve got Lodge night and my COH is $23.60. I’ll get my cheque Friday and Anne doesn’t need to give me another $20. I’m ok. Any books I have there at Audrey’s can keep until next week. Even though I bought “Seedlings” on the Friday before March, February was leap year. So I’m counting Seedlings as my first book for March. I forgot to mention that Adam Robert’s “Splinter” is in as well. In Trade.

So for this afternoon, I’m heading into work. It feels like a Wednesday afternoon for a Tuesday still slightly on the cold side of things but I’m hoping things will warm up. I‘ll get a coffee at Tim‘s on my way in. Yesterday JT was saying something about how Rob was squawking about pause times and credit card sales and if things don’t improve he could reduce peoples hourly rate. If he does that to me, I’m out of there and good riddance.

Some sad entertainment news today. Canada’s Jeff Healy died of cancer at the age of 41. Some of you might remember him as the blind guitar player that played his guitar on his lap. He was blind at an early age from a rare form of cancer in his eyes. His son now has that same gene. This guy was an amazing talent. He had an enormous record collection and his publicist said how he would mention the name of an artist and Healy would go to that record out of thousands and pull it out in a few minutes. His big hit was “Angle eyes.”

Tonight the Oiler’s are home to Nashville, so we’ll be following that on the radio. With 17 games away until the end of the regular season the Oiler’s are only 8 points out of a playoff spot. If they can win half of their remaining games, that’s about 16 points. The thing is there are 5 other teams more or less in the same position as the Oiler’s. Washington Capitals Alex Ovechkin has scored his 50th goal last night. The first player this year to reach that plateau. Ryan Smyth’s ugly slam into the boards the other night resulted in a head injury. 19 goals and he’s day to day. About 1 year ago Edmonton was still in shock over losing Smyth and fans were calling for Kevin Lowe’s head. At 7 mill, Kevin Lowe made a good deal that day it seems after all. What a difference a year makes. So tonight, I’ll be listening to the game maybe get some reading in on the job in between calls.

Coast was a pretty good show last night from what little I heard: UFO Historian Art Campbell shared details about a UFO crash on the Plains of San Augustin, New Mexico which reportedly occurred the same time as the Roswell Incident in July 1947. First hour guest, Michael Salla presented information about an alleged secret UN meeting on UFOs. Looks like this was their best show of the week.

Well, it’s back to reformatting of H. I’m feeling no pain in my back shoulder at the moment. Or very little. If I do have arthritis I might have to take Vioxx treatments but I’ve been hearing some not to good things about Vioxx as well. But I have a bit of a pain free break and an hour to work on H Things look pretty good the way it’s going. If this format works, I might use the same format for all my books

This just in I read on J's blog. Co-creator Gary Gygax of "Dungeons and Dragons" fame has died at the age of 69. Sad news indeed. The news broke only hours ago. Here's a link and a photo to the story.

Anyway, that’s all for now

e. Jim
