Rolling into Wednesday

Anne made me a nice pasta lunch while watching the news just now. I finished that Gregory Benford story on the train on the way into work. At Tim’s I got a medium coffee wandered into the office. Rob was there joking with me and I had a slow but a good night. I also got 1 credit card sale for $30. The Oiler’s on the other hand were not faring so well. They were down 3-0 in the first and lost 5-1 when Oiler fans poured onto the train at Rexal. Oh-oh. Well they can’t when everyone. It was fun at work last night but it sure felt like a Wednesday night. Everyone was in a pretty good mood. Even my shoulder felt alright. Still feels pretty good.

Prior to lunch I got a bit of writing done on H. I decided to go with what I have. Too much work to go change it. I think I got about 100 words on H but I’ll be posting more after I post this.

It was sad to hear about Gary Gygax passing away. I never played D&D until I moved here from New Westminster to Edmonton August 1978. I didn’t know anything about it. I was mostly into war games like Avalon Hill and SPI games. My first fantasy role playing experience actually began playing Chivalry and Sorcery. Or C&S. I recall even before I met Ellen in September 1978 heading over to Trevor’s place. I was hoping for some war gaming and they were all into C&S at the time. I met Ellen in October. Anyone and everyone connected to the SCA was playing C&S. I played D&D a few times in the 1980’s. But for me it was C&S. I just felt that D&D was a bit overwhelming. Like I said, my buddy Charles currently runs a D&D campaign. I wouldn’t mind getting involved but I’m a married man and Anne wouldn’t understand. C&S was to be the Advanced D&D offering but Gygax rejected it at Gen con in 1976.

On Coast this Tuesday night: George Ure & 'Cliff' will share their web bot predictions about world events and the U.S. economy. First Hour: John M. Curtis offers analysis on the primaries, then physicist James McCanney discusses a baffling force acting on space probes. Other then politics I like the stuff about the space probes.

Some interesting science fiction movies I’m looking forward to coming out soon 20, 000 Leagues Under the Sea; Barbarella; Capricorn One; Cell; Clash of the Titans; Creature from the Black Lagoon; Fantastic Voyage; Justice League; Land of the Lost; Magneto; Voyage of the Dawn Treader; The Time Traveler's Wife; Thor; not to mention, the Indiana Jones 4 movie and Iron Man. Some good offerings coming up.

I was thinking about going to Lodge this week but instead I’ll go to the emergent meeting on the 20th. This way I can pick up my book for This week. If it’s still at Audrey’s I’ll pick up “Horizons” BY Mary Rosenblum. Looks like a good read

I did 1,085 words on H just now. I like what I got to. This thing has some potentual. I'm begining to build some momentum here and this time, I think I'm going to go with it.

Anyway, that’s all for now

e. Jim
