I didn’t sleep well over night. I think I got maybe 3 hours of sleep. I was feeling ok when I got outside and on my way into work this morning though.

It wasn’t that cold out there. I think about 0C or something like that. I read from “The New Space opera” on the train on my way in and I’m on the last story. I want to try and finish this book by the end of the weekend. At last. I got my breakfast sandwich at Tim’s and a large coffee. I didn’t win on Roll up. What else is new? The consensus amongst the tap shooters was to do CCSD. I didn’t do to bad. By break I had $480. I got a $35 credit card sale and I was bumping like crazy. I think 80% of my sales were bumps. In many cases I was doubling $10 sales to $20 and doing well at it. I had by the end of the day $870. So now I know the importance of credit cards. I’ve always known they were important but a credit card sale is not a sure thing as I thought. A credit card sale can be disallowed between customer and credit card company. Maybe the card is maxed out even though the expiration date is valid. That’s why Rob puts the credit card bank up every week. It might not be a reflection of my overall bank but it’s a good indicator of it.

After work I headed home. My shoulder and arm were in a lot of pain. I thought about going to Audrey’s for another book or even up to City Center Mall for a Taco Bell treat but I was in too much pain. Instead I went down to board the train and took that home. There were 3 cars on the LRT on the way home. There was some kind of an event at Rexal going on, what I don’t know. I felt somewhat better walking out of Clairview station. I wanted to go over to Future shop to look at web cams. Anne wants a wireless webcam. It was so hard to get any staff around there. Most of them were way to busy. Someone showed me Future shop’s only wireless web cam. They want $80 bucks for it. It looked kind of big. Anne thinks the caretakers are coming into our suite, or someone that has a skeleton key helping themselves to our food when we’re out for the night at work on the job. That’s a strong possibility. Anne thinks Walmart has cheaper wireless webcams. They probably do. I later looked around at Fs's HDTV’s trying to find a tech guy. There was only one person with other people like me looking around. They have some nice 47 inch TV’s but the HD format in that setting made me feel kind of nausea. Future Shop’s prices are around the $2K range for a decent TV. Then you’ve got to buy the cable box/receiver to get the HD signal. To get a nice size HDTV We’re looking at $2,500. It would take me about a year to save up that kind of money. At $50/week, we might be able to get one iby the end of the year. We’re in no hurry. Besides by the time that one rolls around, the one we could get to today will be better in another 8 months. I walked home feeling better. It was a beautiful warm day out there.

When I got home, Anne was lying down still sleeping. I tried having a nap but too many interruptions. I think I snoozed for an hour before Anne came home and went back out again. If we did get the HDTV, I’d save my vacation pay towards it. I’d get the 52 inch. Out of my vacation pay, there’s about $500 bucks and at $50/week for the next 42 weeks or so, that’s an extra $2,100. I also want the PS3 and the fantasy role playing game "Oblivion" to go along with it. I’d be looking at least $2,700. Or $2,850 after GST. It’s something to shoot for. But we got to get our rent under control first. Only then, would I even consider getting a big ticket item like that. I’d love to say in December of this year have $3,000 so I can surprise Anne with the new TV and the PS3 for me. That’d be a great Christmas present for us.

Last night in Audrey’s books I found Elizabeth Bear’s “Dust.” I picked that up as my book of the week. I’ve got 2 of her books now, “Undertow” and “Dust.” I could have bought "Horizons" last night and I was looking for it but it was gone. Seems somebody picked it up before me. I should have hid it.

Coast looks like it's going to be a good show tonight: The Lost Ark of the Covenant. Of course all the religious freaks will be coming out of the closet.

Tonight, I’m going to try and get some H writing done. At the moment I’m sitting at 11,744 words on the story. I’m definitely going to write tonight. No hockey. Thank God. I think Anne's getting us beer tonight. Bottled beer. I'm tired of beer in those cheesy metal cans. I was going to go out with Moe for a beer after work but he was still hankering around the office after I waited for awhile. The pain in my shoulder was telling me, it was time to go home.

Anyway, that’s all for now

e. Jim
