Slow Wednesdays

I had a comfortable ride going into work reading from NTR. I think I got 4 pages read. I timed my reading speed and it seems it takes me 3 minutes to read one page. That’s slow. So, this book then should take me 978 minutes to read. Or 16.3 hours. More or less. I started reading this book Sunday March 9th. I’m already on Chapter 6. Inside the office I looked on the directory for the Alberta Ester Seals. I don’t think it’s the same outfit we fundraise for. But the addressed matched when I mentioned our company. It got Googled just fine. I met Rob coming off the elevator and he began talking about how he was listening to my phone calls and said I need to be asking for credit cards on every sale. He said I should be pushing for 25 credit card sales/week. It Didn’t dawn on me to rebuttal him at the time but when I caught up with Moe and asked him about it, I said, how I only work part time. I told him I got 4 credit card sales last night. That kind of shut him up. So I asked him about the AES pointing to the directory and he didn’t have an answer for me. Typical.

I had a slow night and I think I was at top total at break. I had a $50 credit card sale and $205 by break. At break I answered the phone from some guy asking about a job and asking me questions. Moe got an earful when the guy wanted to speak to my manager. I handed Moe the phone. After that Moe said it was Rob on the other end playing a prank on me. It was kind of funny him pretending he’s about to get out of jail and wanted money for smokes. In the 2nd half The calls were coming in really slow. I ended up with $355 and a $10 credit card sale. My pause times are low and I’m rarely off my dialer and I’m bumping all of my sales. He’s got nothing to complain about and that’s 8 credit card sales for the week. Because I’m part time, my goal should be 12. I had a good time at work and we got out of there at 8:55pm and I got the train home with little waiting.

I didn’t do any reading on the train home. There were extra cars on the train coming home. My arm was still to soar. Still feels that way now. I got home to check a couple of scores. Carolina beat Chicago and Anaheim bet Vancouver. That helps the Oiler’s out. The Oiler’s have 12 games left. So does Vancouver. If the Oiler’s win half of their games, that’d get them at 85 points. If Vancouver wins half of their games, that would get them 82 points. Then there’s Phoenix and Nashville. Phoenix has 12 games left and Nashville has 11. This is where it all gets interesting.

On Coast tonight: Starting at 10p PT: Dr. Peter Ward will discuss his latest work on hydrogen sulfide extinctions, and how we are creating the circumstances for the mass extinction of humans in the future. What 500 years from now? The 1st half usually is the more interesting half anyways.

Anne’s still cooking supper. Scallop potatoes. That’s a Sunday Supper. I hate these late night suppers. Hard to sleep with all that food in my system.

Some Coast “News” today: Indians gather to save the planet North American Indians assembled in the shadow of ancient Mayan pyramids Monday. I didn’t know the planet was dying. News to me. “Saving the planet” Biggest catchphrase gimmick of all time

Here’s another story: Kissing the Earth Goodbye in 7.59 Billion Years In the end, there won’t even be fragments. No kidding when the Sun goes Nova.

I wanted to do some writing tonight but Anne’s got this huge project she’s undergoing. I hate it when she does this. So it doesn't look like I'm going to get any writing done tonight.

Anyway, that‘s all for now.
