Good Friday

Good Friday at last. Not that this day holds any religious significances for me. It’s just nice to have a Friday off even though I have to go in for tomorrow/Saturday.

I called Neil earlier about 5:30pm and I knew it. He’s not going in. I didn’t know what I’d do. Then it dawned on me. Could Nathan (we took our EA together) back in 2002. Actually March 2002 to be exact. Nathan will be taking the big chair in December. So he said he’d pick me up at 6:45pm then. Good stuff. I got a shave and a shower and got into my suite. My clip on tie looks sloppy. I need a new one. Maybe Walmart has some cheep ones. I put a $10 bill in my pocket and grabbed my apron and some of the Registrar stuff and went outside. It was on the cooler side but pleasant without a coat. Nathan pulled up right on time. He was here before when he picked me up for a rare Saturday morning initiation. We met Alvar our there and a few others. We Didn’t know if we had a candidate going on for the night. I got my apron on and sure enough the fellow showed up. I asked Alvar if I could use him for a sound board. My WT was perfect. All nervousness aside. A black fellow. Seems like a nice enough sincere guy. The Fc ritual is a fast ritual. I sat beside the Director of Ceremonies. We broke there for a bit midway for a coffee and a smoke. Not that I smoke or anything. Then we got the other half underway and I did my WT, I stumbled around a bit but I got a “good job” out of the DOC. I had a pretty good night. Safeway subs cut in half inch slices cookies and cake to go around. I bought Nathan a beer. ($2 for $5 buck.) and myself a Heineken in those new cans.

Our adapted visitor/lodge member, Reg showed up late from a Scottish Rite Lodge. We had a nice talk there for awhile about the Scottish Rite Lodge. Edmonton Valley lodge, I think it is. I’m thinking about joining a SRL. We don’t call it the Canadian Rite after all. Good too know.

Prior to calling Neil I began the rest of the reading on H. It’s just over 11,000 words. Actually: 11,094.

Anyway Bloggers, that’s all for now.
