Having a blog day off |

Nuit. Not that I observe the Holy Days anymore but I do recognize them as part of my past. The 3 days of the writing of the “Book of the Law.” 1904. I discovered Thelema April 25th 1980 2 weeks after the Holy Days. Nuit, Hadit, Ra Hoor Khuit was the mantra then. Hard to believe I was just 27 years old. I never thought I’d get to be 55 years old.
Sunday I began the long journey of reading Peter F. Hamilton’s “Pandora’s Star.” I’m still in the first Chapter and just about near the end of Chapter 1.
I left out of here about 4pm Monday afternoon feeling pretty good. I got to Fran’s dialer so I could get closer to the monitor. Every chance I got, I snuck a look at the DVD Moe played us for the night. Monday night was “The Bourne identity” trilogy. Of course it’s hard to follow without sound even though they did have subtitles but they were to fast and frequent for me to read. Again we were doing wheelchair sports and I got a $100 credit card sale using the call back phone. Also the bonus sheets are up. I’ve got $39 bucks coming to me for Friday. Good stuff. Anne called on my cell at break and I had a chat with her. I read some more from PS. I got 2 more credit card sales for a total of 3. In leaving the office at 9pm I checked my total and I wrote $555. I was in the top 3. Nobody got to $600.
I got to Clairview and waited for my train reading PS. I tried calling Charles at Central but he wasn’t answering his phone. Anne called me between Central and Belvedere saying she was on the #5 coming home. Burgers were supposed to be on the menu.
I got in and Raw was preempted because of the NBA basket ball game. I didn’t have long to wait. Anne called and changed her mind about the burgers because she was too tired to cook so ordered the deli pizza from Superstore. It was good. The Space channel had “Alias” on. I haven’t seen this show before but it looks pretty good. It’s an older show as well. There are a lot of good Sci-fi shows that I missed because I didn’t have cable. I didn’t even know “Alias” was on the air. The Space Channel does a pretty good job at presenting some of the old and new of Sci-fi.
Looks like the 42” LCD HDTV is on again. I don’t know when Anne is going to go down to her bank and draw the funds for it. I’m thinking wait until I get my tax return and my vacation pay and I can get the HD cable box to replace the one we have now. The LCD is a bit wider then our current TV and fills the same space plus it’s LCD 1080p. Add a PS3 and “Oblivion” into that mix and I’m going to be in my glory. But I’d rather get the HD TV cable box with the built in PVR but that’s about $700. $300 more then the regular cable box. I think it’d be worth it. If I utilize my vacation pay and my income tax return I think I can get it.
I’m also considering making a few website changes. Firstly; I want to get rid of that garish looking logo. E. Jim Shannon. I’m thinking about calling my website: “e. Jim’s Science Fiction and Fantasy.” Something like that. Also, the logo change will stop those looking for “Shannon Airport.” E. Jim Shannon will be in the photo block. The mission statement should be included in the logo. Also, I’m considering changing the ad to a referral type of an ad so that the ad isn’t driven by content. Right now this website is mostly fuelled by my blog. I’m also thinking about the photo block underneath the ad and in between my blog posts. Since this website/blog isn’t content for the masses, I’m not going to get a lot of clicks. Since I got the Adsense account I received 6 clicks in all of something like 5,000 page impressions. Referrals aren’t going to pay much better. Besides, an image referral ad will look nice on my site as well.
Not much going on for Today. It’s into work for my 5-9 and then home.
Anyway Bloggers, that’s all for now.
