Weekend snow days |
|
For those of you dropping by yesterday and if you noticed the weather pixie, you would have seen him against a background of snow icons. Yes that’s right we got us a ton of snow since Saturday afternoon, well after I entered my last Blog post and leaving the office that is. We must have a foot of snow on the ground right now and should be like this-snowing-all day. Looks like the planet Hoth out there.
Last night about 10:30ish I got the urge to do some piano work. Most piano players I’ve talked to and on YouTube say the first song they have ever learned how to play was “Twinkle, twinkle little star.” So in that tradition of first songs, that’s what I’m learning. I can play the melody part just fine. I’m playing the left hand chord parts that are giving me a bit of a challenge but not a difficult one. It’s basically a C, C, F, C. 2 bar 3 finger chord type arrangement. It’s pretty simple. That’s what Neil said: "when starting out, keep it simple." I can read some sheet music notation but my timing isn’t where I’d like to have it and I’m not comfortable with all the notation icons. I know most of them but not all of them. If someone gave me a piece of sheet music and said, play “Jingle bells,” I couldn’t for the life of me even begin. ("Um, where's middle C on here?") That’s why they have piano lessons.
I did all the above yesterday and watched the end of the Detroit taking out Nashville game. Good. And I did a bit of reading from Ps and I enjoyed the SJ at Calgary game. Calgary went and forced a game 7 against SJ. Anne made us a nice tender pork roast. Montreal is in their game 7 tonight. Also, I watched Dallas take out Anaheim. Great. We’re going to have new champs. Of course it'll be an American team, but oh well. If the Habs can take out Boston and the Flames take out SJ, then we'll have 2 Canadian teams in the 2nd round.
Coast was really boring last night. Ian’s guest was an ex-polygamy cult member in a fundamentalist Christian church. Well if anything it gets peoples minds out of this AGW nonsense.
I had 3 hours sleep overnight and I get up to do the cbi thing about 6am this morning. Back immediately to bed. I think I got about 2.5 hours sleep after that. So this morning about 10am as I’m up to pee my wife with her constant hypochondriac like tendencies is up wanting me to put lineament oil on her back and she rummages around the apartment with water for the “furnace.” Yeesh. She’s having breathing episodes again. So much for my sleep. Well I’m up anyway now having a coffee. Monday night Raw is going to be a 3 hour show. I'm following hockey and Raw. The weather pixie still shows it's snowing out there. it's been off and on like that all weekend, still.
Weather wise, it’s only -10C out there. Ordinarily that’s not bad right? Yeah -10C/-21C wind chill. For the 2nd half of April yet and I’m going to be out in that later this afternoon. For the most part, I'll be in the train or inside.
I decided to go to AHC later this afternoon. If I end up going at all. I’d leave out of here at 2:30pm. Anne’s home tonight and she wants me home as well. So I’ll call in about 5pm and give Moe the details. Woe's of having a sick wife. I’d like to be in for the afternoon shifts all this week but I think tomorrow it’s going to be in for my usual 5pm shift. Once our allowance runs out at the end of this month, I’m going to have to make up for this by working the extra hours. Or wait and see if we qualify for rental assistance. I can get my rental assistance form filled out right away. We’re still waiting for Anne’s form to come back from her employer. Anne wants me home tonight because she hasn’t prepared anything for me for lunch for work as she’s off to see her Doctor sometime today.
When Anne was at the bank Saturday in an atempt to get at her funds for the HD TV we want to buy (Stargate Atlantis will look pretty good on a 42" HD TV.) the clerk at her bank said that if she was diabetic she'd be able to take all of it out without penalty, no problem. Suggesting that having diabeties is a death sentence or something. Anne's mother lived to her mid 80's and it was her strokes that took her. Maybe the diabeties caused her to have the stroke. Only God knows.
Blog posting will be spotty this week but for those of you that subscribe to this blog will get the Rss anyway. The things an aspiring Science-Fiction writer goes through.
Anyway Bloggers, that’s all for now
