Anne stayed at home this evening (Tuesday) having a few days off, not feeling well. So I went into work alone under sunny skies for a change. In some areas we have snow drifts 24” deep and in others snow barely covered the ground. The weather report said we had 29 CM of snow and now it all looks like oatmeal out there. We’re supposed to warm up on Sunday and like I said we should have it gone by the end of the month. Anne said I can go in for the 4pm shift for today, Wednesday. Yeaa! When I got across the street by the office there was JT coffee cups in hand. He said they had a good time in Vegas over the weekend. Rob wasn’t around but I made up a story for management anyway. Not that it mattered. I needed the day off because next week, I work full time. I ended up with $435 and 4 credit cards. I had 3 of them out of 11 kick out and I don’t even know if the 4 from last week were included for this pay cheque. If none of the 4 got kicked out then I should have 12 showing for $24. You’d thin on my cheque tomorrow. I got top total on our side and I think even for the room. Anne provided me with SJ/Flames updates all night. It was kind of tough treading on the way back behind First Edmonton Place, with the snow turning to ice. I got the Clairivew train and hooked up with Brent D and one of his buddies on the train home. I was introduced to “Death Metal” but with a female vocalist of all things. And some of it, wasn’t bad.

In the apartment back home Anne said SJ scored 3 quick goals making it 5-2, 2 thirds of the way into the 2nd period. The Flames made a brief comeback in the 3rd but SJ had way to much momentum. SJ Won 5-3. Roenick had some nice things to say about the Flames. He’s a classy act. In the West it’s Detroit-Dallas-SJ-Denver. In the East, it’s The Habs-Pens-Rangers-Flyers. So much for Ovechkin. I’m still pulling for the Habs even though I kind of would like to see Doug Weight get a Cup and Ryan Smyth. More so for Weight. But I’m always pulling for a Canadian team. With all of the 30 teams in the League, 6 are Canadian. With odds like that stacked against us it will be a long while before a Canadian team will win the Cup. I mean, lets have a team in Columbus but not in Winnipeg? Lets have a team in Nashville but not in Hamilton? Bettman wanted to sell the NHL to the US so that’s why we get teams like Atlanta and Nashville and Phoenix and we can’t get a team in Winnipeg or Hamilton. To be fair there isn’t a lot of money in Winnipeg but still. Bettman and Eagleson before him never should have allowed Canadian teams to move to the states. Same for any US team to move to Canada. (like that will ever happen) NExt NHL expansio? Fargo North Dakota. So much for Portland or Oregon even. Ok, in the West, I’m pulling for Dallas, In the East (A Canadian team) Montreal obviously.

By now most of you have seen the video of the Phoenix lights part 2 that occurred Monday night. The military this time, isn’t saying it’s one of theirs. Why are all these people seeing these things? I’ve never seen a actual UFO up close. On Coast right now: UFO investigator for over thirty years, Philip Imbrogno will discuss the hidden connections between UFOs and other unexplained phenomena-- from crop circles and animal mutilations to angels and jinns (or genies). First Hour: Ufologist Stanton Friedman will discuss the recent Phoenix sightings, along with witness Tony Toporek. I like Stanton Friedman. For once, Coast has a decent show.

According to SF Signal today, the upcoming Star Wars live action TV series will begin airing 2010. Cool. Also in today’s SF Signal, Editor Jonathan Strahan is tracking over 50+ 2008 sf/f anthologies. I'm waiting for: Fast Forward 2, The Del Rey Book of Science Fiction and Fantasy, Tesseracts Eleven, Galactic Empires The Solaris Book of New Science Fiction: Volume 2, Eclipse 2, Godlike Machines, just to name a few.

Btw J and I are having a disscussion (not a debate) over the environment and Earth day etc. My nick around the web is Envaneo. You can read about our disscussion here.

Anyway Bloggers, that’s all for now

e. Jim
