We went to bed at our usual time, 3am to listen to the "other news" from George Noory on Coast and then I passed out. I got up around 5 to do the cbi thing and read more from Pandora’s Star. Only at Chapter 7 and a 3rd of the way into the book, I’m beginning to create a list of characters, the scenes and what they are doing in that scene so I can keep track of what's going on in this huge book. One of the plot questions I have at this stage (spoiler) if they are able to open up a wormhole light years away to a planet and send a ground crew to a scanned planet. Then walk through the wormhole in pressure suits to the scanned planet why do they need to build a starship to another world (“Dyson Pair”) when the author is demonstrating the characters can just walk through a wormhole like walking down the other end of the hall? It’s not clear at this point why things are set up this way. This might be explained later on of course.
After I read for about an hour, I went back to bed at 6am but I kept on getting up to pee like every hour. Strange. I slept alright all things considering. I looked at the clock before I got up and it read 11:20am. I figured I could sleep for about half an hour get up and catch the markets. I opened my eyes and 12:30pm. Yikes.
My wife went out to check on the mail and we have her pension money here. So this means we’ll get out TV and possibly as early as tonight. We’re not getting the cable box until about the end of June. Seeing as how we’re allowed to only get 2 hardship draws/year. Personally I’d rather we use $200 out of that for rent until Labor Day and get the TV then with our 2nd draw. But it’s not my money. If all goes well, we could have the TV up and running Saturday night. I’ll be asking Nathan if we can use his van Saturday to help us get the TV. We won’t have the cable box yet but I’m sure we can still get analog signals through the HD TV without the cable box.
Tonight I’m going to Lodge and that’s going to be a good night. It’s a boys night out. Best parts I like about the lodge is communications the lodge receives (it’s nice to know what’s going on out there ) and the socializing after lodge. The festive board.
I can now play (more or less) “Twinkle-twinkle little star” on the piano
I just need to put the chords together (left hand) and I have those at my despoiled. I can do the first part and the last part is the same as the first except in the 2 middle parts there are 3 chords instead of the 2. I’ve got the melody line down pat.
Right now Enterprise, is currently on Space channel (or Space). My favorite Star Trek to date, although I did like Voyager. The only Trek I didn’t care too much for was DS9. This was kind of lame. Voyager was great but I didn’t like it at first. Enterprise was by far the best out of all of the post TOS. I’m usually watching something at 3pm lunch before I head out to work and lately it’s been westerns on Lone Star. I’ve been giving Space the bypass lately because they’ve been having way to much horror in there for my tastes. I like traditional horror not all this blood and gore stuff. It’s way to over the top. So now at 3 I’ll be watching Relic hunter. I liked this show when it was on. To bad it was removed off the air but the show produced 66 episodes. I think I watched maybe the first season and for some reason my local channel stopped carrying it.
Anyway Bloggers, that’s all for now
