Still working and enjoying "Pandora’s Star". Great stuff. Peter F. Hamilton is gradually becoming one of my favorite British SF writers next to James P Hogan and Neal Asher. Like Asher, Hogan is also a AGW skeptic. But I’ve been reading JPH since when his first book came out long before this AGW trend kicked in.
Speaking about weather and stuff we’ve been getting some really high winds lately. Actually around 66kmh. Temperature wise we got up to +27C today. A couple of fires began near Bruderheim earlier this afternoon causing some loss of life and some losing their homes. The fires fueled on by severely strong winds. The winds will drop over night but back up again latter. Not very pleasant for the folks hoping to have a nice long weekend.
Speaking of, which I’m not sure if I want to take Saturday off or not. I already had Tuesday off so I better not take any ore time off. We‘ve got some of the big wigs from the company coming up here next Thursday and Friday on a fact finding mission to see how we are doing things here. They are also looking at attendance and to see who are some of the main attendance violators. I‘d be right on the list. Moe made the announcement today saying that they’ll be sending out a letter to people that violate attendance. I got to get out of Xl. Anyway, I’ll work tomorrow and Friday and Saturday and I’ll have 2 days off and Tuesday afternoon working in the evening. That’ll almost be like having 3 days off.
On Coast tonight: Author of Blueprint for Survival and expert in survivalism for over 30 years, Steve Quayle will discuss how recent volcanic and weather activity is contributing to global changes which are impacting food production and prices. Seeing as how Ian and Steve didn’t get along very well the last time Quayle was on the air.
One movie I’m really excited about coming to the big screen is the upcoming Will Eisner’s “The Spirit.” I liked the B&W “Kitchen sink” magazines with the Spirits sidekick Ebony. Classic stuff. Frank Miller’s influence is going to bring a lot to the production of one of my favorite fictional characters. As soon as the new Indiana Jones and iron man movies hit the dollar theater, we’re going. The Dark knight figures in there as well.
Anyway Bloggers, that’s all for now
