    Nice day off yesterday

I this morning I didn’t go to sleep until around 3:am after an hour and a half of 3 great Annie Oakley episodes. Anne and I were pretty wiped out to say the least. Outside of her 2 blow ups we had a nice weekend. According to the on screen channel listings my Detroit/Dallas game wasn’t listed, anywhere. That meant no hockey on my day off. I watched the early Raw instead and I wasn’t disappointed. What a great Raw, right after a PPV. I’d rate this one an 8/10. Good stuff. I kept an eye on the ticker running sports scores at the bottom of the screen. In the first period Detroit 3-0 in the first. That’s it for Dallas. Now it was about this time I should have turned over to CBC. I should have done this as Anne was having her blow up. But I continued in with Raw instead trusting the on screen program scheduling. After Raw I sat outside on the balcony. By this time Anne had calmed down and joined me for a bit. I wanted to be left alone for awhile there and I got my wish. There 10pm evening air was nice and still. Twilight birds were chirping out there. Just beautiful. I didn’t have an epiphany as I did 29 years ago. With those nice ribs Anne had made us earlier I didn’t need a lunch.

I watched the news and then the sports. There were game highlights and the insert screen logo read CBC. So the game was on. This taught me a lesson. When a game is supposed to be on don’t go by the listings. In other words I missed a pretty good game because I trusted the on screen listings. When it comes to live events like that, never trust the on screen listings.

So in the finale it’s going to be Pens/Wings. Whoever has home ice advantage will win the game and it will go 7 games. The series begins on Saturday. Most likely it’s going to be in the afternoon.

I’m enjoying my first coffee of the day. The market graphics came on and for the first half of the day, Oil is up at $129/barrel. It might reach the $130 mark by the end of the day.

This afternoon I’m working on my secret writing project. Or the swp. Making my blog rounds getting ready for work this afternoon as I’m heading out at 4pm. Anne wants me to get the subsidy paper signed by Rob this week. This means I’ll have to go in for a few afternoons.

This morning I couldn’t sleep. Anne placed a wind chime out by our window and it’s tinkling away like glass. That wasn’t why I couldn’t though. I got up about 4am watched a bit of The magnificent 7 TV series. It’s not to bad. I watched 2 “new” episodes of Okanogan Pioneer and places. Or OPP. One was about gambling and games the eerily settlers played. An interesting angle for the show. The other show took me to about 4:45am and that’s when I fed the cats in between commercial breaks. The other show was about the Kettle Valley railroad and the train wooden supporting trestle’s that were damaged by the September 2003 fire. Most of those were replaced by iron and steel frames in the 1930’s. Good episodes. I think I began watching OPP only as of a couple of years ago but I thought I’ve seen all the shows as Lonestar kept on repeating them over and over. Like they do with almost everything else.

I’ve got about another week here of reading Ps. I think I should be at the halfway mark of the book. I’m at Chapter 12 376/988. Uggh. Yet I’m enjoying Peter F. Hamilton’s work and even though there is a lot going on here, I’m able to keep up. Pandora’s Star 988 pages. Judas Unchained (the sequel) 1008. That’s 1,996 pages. I’m sure the complete story was written in one go over the course of several many months.

At work I’m going to call Audrey’s and see if the 2 Jack Vance books are available. I think they’ve had one of them there or perhaps one of them is still there. We’ll see. Other then that, not much is going on today.

Anyway Bloggers, that’s all for now

    e. Jim
