Labour Day weekend, big deal.

Yeesh. My wife is in panic mode right now over a little $50 rental increase. It could have been much worse. Lots of people are facing $200+ rental increases. She’s been harping on getting a subsidy but the thing is my name is not on the lease. Legally I don’t have a roof over my head so all the subsidy in the world wont help us if I’m not legally on the lease. Right now, we have just the $540 here for rent that I‘ve hidden away from over a week ago. We still need about another $300. She should have taken out the full amount for rent then we wouldn’t face this problem but she didn’t know at the time she‘d have 2 weeks off. When she went into work to pick up her cheque yesterday they said hey could have work on Wednesday. Meanwhile my next cheque wont be until Friday. Now I have to put extra shifts in at Xl and I don’t mind but we’re still going to be short unless she can keep $100 out of the $400 she had and or go to the bank for the other $300. She was warned that her place of employment would be shutting down for a couple of weeks in August. I think it’s more about some of the senior office people there wanting 2 weeks off. Most people take 2 weeks off in the summer.

All this comes at a very awkward time in my life because my job is about to take a change for the worse. My job is currently on life support as it is. This is why this week, I really need to put my name in at pizza so at least I’ll have a couple of weeks there as a cushion to land on if my job closes at the end of September I’ll just phase into Pizza. But I had a pretty good run at getting a weekly paycheque for 8 years. I had some laughs, met my wife there and learned I have diabetes. We got our 2 cats Sparky and Sporty as well. So maybe it’s time to move on. I’ll stay on my job to the bitter end. Though I might just be overreacting as well. I hope that’s the case.

Friday afternoon after I shut the place down here I was out there waiting for my bus and a brief wait at Clairview for the train. The weather was nice and sunny and even a bit warm. On the 4:20pm train me and this woman were the only two people on that half of the train as she was browsing over her what looked like an Apple Iphone. I felt chatty so I asked her about it. She was nice and pleasant. I asked her about the phone and what the screen looks like for web pages and mentioned how the phones my wife and I have is the Telus Samsung’s pay as you go. So going in I got a brief education on the Rogers Iphone plan. She showed me the screen from the weather channel. Looks great. But If I’m going to be working all those extra hours I want to be able to have pocket Internet. I like the Iphone and after looking at a few YouTube vids it looks great. You can even jailbreak the phone but if course this voids the warranty. The apps look pretty cool as well and new software for the phone has improved since the Iphone came here to Canada just this year.

So getting back to last night, I had a good start to the evening and getting the CC bonus. I had 4 CC’s for $12 and also $9 from earlier so IF I get it and that’s the optimum word here-IF, that’s another $21 on my cheque next week. Near the end of he shift I felt really drained and tired and I could feel my bsl drop as I was getting light headed. I needed out of that office and some fresh air. At Audrey’s Trevor said they had some more books that came in for me. I picked up “Night Shift” a fantasy/horror crossover by Lilith Saintcrow. Real name? I don’t know but I like the covers. The sequel is there and a few Warcraft books and others as well, I’ll get to in September. Trevor says they are not 100% sure yet if Audrey’s is going to drop American pricing or not for MMP’s but I’ve been special ordering so many books I’ve been ignoring their SF/F on shelf section lately. Right after I paid for my book I went straight over to Tim’s for a couple of double chocolate donuts. I felt better after that and went down to catch my train home.

I had a long wait for my train because ETS is still experiencing switching difficulties. The end of the line normally should be at the Health Science Center. Instead it’s at Corona. They haven’t had a train going to the University all week. They think the problems should be fixed up before the kids go back to school on Tuesday. I had a nice reading session on the train heading to Clairview. There was a nice lightning storm developing NW just behind where I was at the crosswalk light standard waiting for the light to change allowing me to cross. I got into the apartment to find Anne not home. I sat on the balcony for a few minutes enjoying a bit of a light show and the lovely breeze. We got a bit of rain with it. Not much.

At 10pm was Smackdown but when Anne came in she was all frustrated about this foreign worker at the till at Wall mart they hired that spent a minute on each article looking over the price. This guy should not have been even on the till and the manager had to come over. The guy had no idea what he was doing. Anne had to go through the line up twice because the guy double swiped on an item. She was all frustrated over that and still in panic mode over the small rental increase we had earlier. We ended up getting into a fight but she made me my favorite potato pancakes corn beef hash and beans with molasses. I watched the last bit of Smackdown. It was kind of a lame show. After that I was in bed listening to “The Cisco kid.” I passed out about 1:30am and woke again about 4:30am. I had difficulty getting to sleep from there.

Well time to post this and run into Tim’s for my breakfast and my 4 hours. The I get 2 days off. Maybe. Sorry if I got carried away ranting there but we’re in a bit of a crisis and I need to vent. And to think, this time last weekend Anne wanted me to stay home with her. I should have. Not much chance of that happening this morning. Uggh.

Anyway Bloggers, that‘s all for now
