I had a pretty good afternoon. Anne made me a great supper about 5:30pm. I shaved and showered and got dressed up. I placed a call to Neil and apparently according to his wife, he’s in the tub and wont be going to the Lodge. Ok, I called Nathan and he said he’d be happy to pick me up. Anne came out to meet me and we had a bit of a wait for the Jetta and there he was.
Apparently the candidate bowed out even though we had the YGM and the DGM and a few guests. About 18 0f us were there. We knew we were going to have a short night. Apparently Neil had another stroke. We did some balloting and our secretary, George gave a talk about Prostrate cancer and the procedure for going through the testing etc. Suddenly I began sweating and feeling edgy. I thought maybe I’m having a stroke or something. I got up right in the middle of George’s talk and I had to leave to get some air. On the steps outside I took my suit jacket off and almost tore my tie off and opened my collar. John came out to see if I was all right. Shortly after that, I puked a bit and I felt surprisingly better and went inside and cleaned myself up a bit. At this point our steward for the night was out organizing the festive board. Pizza.
I managed to call Anne from the Lodge phone and mentioned to her what went down. She was kind of worried. So was I.
The festive board was free. Boston Pizza. Actually I was feeling surprisingly better. So much so I had a beer but nothing to eat. I got up to mention to the gang that Apologized about my episode earlier. No big deal. The festive board was really nice. If all things go according to plan I could be the Lodge Tyler for 2008/09.
Nathan was nice to give me a ride home and we had a nice chat about the evening. He wants to take 6 weeks off soon. Good for him. I wish I could.
When I got home Anne wasn’t about. I got my cloths off and she showed up as she had dinner cooking in the oven. Home made stew. We figured this out that what I had earlier at the Lodge was an anxiety attack. That was a first for me. I feel ok now though. We think what brought this on was the fact that Neil had his 2nd stroke and the talk George was giving about prostate cancer.
Anyway Bloggers, that‘s all for now
