Saturday part 2 |

Even though it was a cooler +8C out there this morning I decided I’d walk down to the other bus shelter. I had my Clash tunes on feeling pretty good in the sunshine waiting for my bus over the Manning bridge. At 9am I was on the bus heading to Clairview and the train was already there. By this time I had “The Buzzcocks” in my head on the train down to Corona. I was up at Tim’s getting my breakfast sausage sandwich and a couple orders of hash browns. Good stuff. I was in my dialer enjoying my breakfast. No toothache pain. I took my insulin. I was feeling pretty good.
We we’re playing most $50 sales gets a $50 bonus. By break I was in the lead with 3 and 2nd highest total. I even had a nice chat with Anne. So in the 2nd half and this is where it got interesting. My job is very bank sensitive. By bank I mean what the customer sends back. When I send out an invoice for a specific amount I want to make sure the customer knows what their getting themselves into and if their comfortable with the sale. I know our floor manager needs the numbers and $50 was on the line for me but I will not sends out false sales. Not for the sake of the company but for the sake of the charity and my bank. I take great pride in that. So the floor manager who has to verify all $50 sales or greater was on the phone verifying the sale. The sale was already solid but to make it even more “iron clad“ he said something like “And when you get the pledge/invoice in the mail, you can increase it if you like or even decrease the amount.” WTF? I said to the floor manager something like “I can’t put that through (even though the customer had been long gone off the phone) Sorry FM but this isn’t right etc. We got into words over this and I had to drag FM over and admonish him for this. He understood what I mean. Also that $50 I was in the running for, wasn’t without some competition. My co-worker a few seats down from me had 7 $50 and I had 6 despite the one I declined. Anne had called shortly before home time. I managed to get my 7th $50 sale. My buddy and I agreed to share the bonus. Of course each one will be monitored by Rob and when I come into work Monday, he’ll be listening to those calls. I should get them because I did say commitment and like my co-worker we were both using the disclaimer.
I left for Audrey’s and some of my books came in. I had 8 there and I picked up 1 book from the Warhammer series: The Konrad Saga. This looks really good. Its an Omnibus format so all 3 novels are included.

This makes the 2nd Warhammer omnibus I have but I also have 3 other omni bus books as well. Also there for me is the Everquest book, and a Warcraft omnibus: “The Sundering Archive. It was $20 and I didn’t exactly have that kind of money with me. I have 1 Mission Earth book still there and the 3 Karen Travis books. Plus another Warhammer 40K book. So that’s 7 books waiting for me. I took a look around as Audrey’s was replenishing their stock. I also want to get Some of Russell Kirkpatrick and they have a copy of Roger Zelaney’s “The Great book of Amber.” I didn’t realize that all 10 books were in this one volume. It’s still in print but barely. I’ll have to give Audrey’s a call tomorrow to have them save their only copy for me.
With my book in hand I headed downstairs for the LRT and a brief wait I decided to take the train to the end of the line and at the Health Sciences Center I gave Charles a call asking him if he’d like to come to Pure Speculation with me. He’s checking it out. Also once out of the tunnel, I called Neil and he said that my name is in for Tyler at our lodge. Excellent.
I got home called Charles to give him my website with links to Pure Spec and hopefully he got to that. I managed to have a small nap but it didn’t really do anything for me. I got up around 5:30pm and watched the Eskimo vs. Winnipeg, I think the score was 32-22. Good stuff. Well that’s about it for me for the weekend, time to get some piano practice in.
Anyway Bloggers, that‘s all for now
