What a day |
|
ok, I go and lock everything up here. Got sandwiches, coffee, 2 cans of pop, my book, glasses, bus pass, cell phone. I shut it all down made sure the cats were in and even put on the radio, hinting at anyone that would be listening at the door. Someone is home. I’m feeling alright and a nice wait for the bus and I’m on the train reading away. 15 minutes later I’m off the train and making my way to the office and inside the building and there’s Rob and Dwayne coming out. Rob said I got a heat call last night. I mentioned about lodge night tonight and he laid down the law: “You only work part time James, come on. You just had Thanksgiving day off etc.” Ok. He’s right, I'll give him that. It seems this was a serious heat call that almost got me fired and still might. I won’t get into the details because I’m not sure even I understand this whole thing. The floor manager made this the theme for his kick-off. He wouldn’t identify it was me but most likely the whole daytime crew heard about it. I wanted to get off taps as we were doing CFK again but the Super wouldn’t let me. So with this on my mind I really struggled.
Anne called in the 2nd half and I could only with other people around hint at what was going on. I had another talk with the Super and he said don’t worry about it and don’t let it get me down. That said I took the advice and did the best job I could. I even pulled away from the others there as well for 2nd place. I was glad to get out of there. I felt like crap. I had the idea to go get another job and I might still do that yet. The complaisant wanted me fired and that would have been a $1,500 fine the company would have to pay and would have garnisheed my wages. That’s the last thing I need.
It was with a heavy heart when I left to get my 9:20pm train. There were 3 cars on the train and all I wanted to do was to find a seat to myself and read on the way home. Apparently the Oil Kings were playing at Rexall. I got home and turned on the TV and watched the 3rd period of the Oiler’s at Anaheim game. It was tied at 2 in the 3rd and the Oiler’s scored to win it on the road. This was their 2nd win now. They’re off to a great start. Uh-oh, watch out for Friday when they play Calgary.
Last night’s National election wasn’t exactly the nail biter it was billed up to be. Apparently less then 55% of the population voted. It’s not a majority but at least it’s not a Liberal or NDP win.
I think this afternoon I’ll be taking a bus up to the Manning Crossing location of “Happy Harbor” (HH) to get my day pass for Pure Speculation. This will give me a good chance to visit the HH store and look around.
When I got home, I called Nathan to let him know I couldn’t make it for tonight. I really hate to do this but Rob’s right. I know it’s not Nathan’s problem but I also called Neil around break as well not sure if Alvar will be in charge tonight.
Twitter has been out for awhile now but I've yet to explore it and take advantage of the servie. I'm still not sure if Twitter is something I can take advantage of. My last post is Tweeted and I might do the same with this one.
Even though I’m not going to Lodge, I’ll get my cheque tonight and it’s off to the bank. Anne agreed that she’ll call for me to find out if there’s any tickets for Pure Speculation and pick one up for me while I’m at work.
Publishing this post is the finale conclusion to a difficult and hard evening for me. The good part was watching that Oiler win.
Anyway Bloggers, that‘s all for now
