Sports Monday it seems |

Still no call from Manpower about the job. I thought they needed 52 positions filled? To be fair I did say I would be ready after Nov. 11th. Lets see if they’ll call me this week.
The weather continues to beSports Moday it seems cold, gray and overcast out there. With the temperature around +3C now, we’re fortunate to have no snow on the ground this time of year. I’d say we will have snow on the ground by the end of the week. I recall back in 1979 when my brother Mike helped me move my few belongings into the Meyer house behind Peoples church (it was an empty lot in those days,) there was snow on the ground. When Mike helped me move my stuff into the basement suite the rent was $125/month. Hard to believe that was 29 years ago. Often our first snow here is around the middle of November.
Yes it’s Monday night and that means another evening of Monday night Raw but the Oiler’s are playing NYR and the Rangers are (for now) the top rated team in the league. With the Oiler’s 2-1 win last night in NJ they will play their 7th straight road win. Only the Oiler’s are the only team to do this because they don’t own their own building so every November they are on the road. The only team in the NHL that has to go through this. Other teams go on road trios, maybe 3-5 games but not 8. So far on this road trip they are 3-3-1. Their finale road game of this trip anyway is tonight at 5pm. We’ll have that on and after that I’ll let Moe know I won’t be here for tomorrow. It’s Remembrance day tomorrow. Then I’ll go home watch Monday night Raw and close out the evening.
This month the province increased recycling rates on cans/bottles and other containers like plastic milk cartons. Pop cans are now 10 cents instead of a nickle and bear cans are 15 cents up 5 cents. It also means we are going to be paying more. Our 2L bottle of diet Cola deposit will now be 25 cents instead of 20 cents. At 10 cents a can/bottle, it’s almost worth taking the cans at work home again. The last time the province raised recycleble rates was what 30 years ago?
I delved into playing “Kum Ba Yah” but it’s mostly Chords. Not very challenging. Then I came across a circle with a number within it. Up until now I hadn’t seen this before. Did I miss something? I went back a couple of lessons and the lesson explained it a little better. I’ll be delving into this as well after Raw.
I wanted to finish reading Book 2 of the Icewind Dale trilogy today and I might get there yet. With 43 pages left I don’t think so. Possibly around Tuesday night because I’ll have Tuesday night off. I usually like to finish reading a book on a Sunday or in the middle of the month. Preferably in the middle of the month. This way I can go on to something else, like “Flash Forward.” FF has 21 stories in it. There’s even a Larry Niven story in there as well with Brenda Cooper. I have FF #2 on order.
Anyway Bloggers that’s all for now
