Getting things done |
|
Hey, it’s Lodge night. First one of the year. My first time as Tyler. However one possible snag: I forgot to write down the combination lock number to get into the back room lodge fixtures. Since Nathan was Tyler at one time (we joined at the same time) he might know the code, or somebody there will. As Tyler its my duty to crack open the back room to get out the stuff. The meeting tonight is on a rare Friday night and I go into work tomorrow morning. I’m going to be exhausted.
Also I made an appointment to see my Doctor for next Wednesday. Anne has the day off. So I go in and get a Doctors note and see if there is a back up plan he might have available for my dental work. The idea is to get out of here about 2pm and head for my bank and see if I can get a bank statement for Income Support. I/S isn’t very much but I’m more concerned about getting medical benefits then anything else, so I can get my teeth fixed. I want dentures in by the end of February. Hopefully. Once I have everything for I/S I can just go in with Anne and see what they can do for us. If things work out ok, then great. We can save on insulin, which I have to pay out of pocket for one thing. I’m using the same needle for my Novilin pen. God knows what that’s doing to me. I usually get 3 uses of 1 needle/cartridge. So I/S will cover my needles, insulin and other diabetic supplies. Needles and insulin are coming out of my pocket. I think what I/S does is give out forms for their clients to hand in for their employers, like how much their making that sort of thing. Then I take the form into I/S and if approved they’ll send me a cheque for February and a health care number or something like that. If all goes well, and there are no snags then I hope to get that first cheque the end of this month or first week in February. And if things go really well, I might have my dental work all done up for February.
Not only do I need income support and medical benefits from AW but I want to take advantage of their job counseling services and see if I can get another job. Maybe with luck I’ll have a new job by Spring. Right now Alberta’s unemployment rate is the best in the country sitting at 4.1%. Even though Oil is sitting at about $39/barrel, we’re still holding our own here.
Currently I’m reading “Horizon’s” by Mary Rosenblum. It’s a tough book to get into for some reason. I’m sure its going to pick up latter. I’m going to stay with it. I’ve read some of the authors short fiction and I like her work but so far the book is starting out slow.
I called my buddy Charles last night. I Haven’t talked with him since before the holidays but he says he has a new girlfriend. Hey, good for him. After what he’s been through, I’m happy for him.
I haven’t played any Xbox in about 2 days. I mean Indiana Jones is ok and all but it isn’t any Morrowind/Elder scrolls. That’s the game I really want to play on this game console.
A couple of things: I Haven’t paid my Lodge dues yet. Anne’s waiting to get a referral bonus for bringing in somebody from my place of work to where she works. That’s my Lodge dues money right there paid in February. We got our gst cheque and that went towards bills. I think I have enough here for my website fees and I’m going to go do that tomorrow after I get off work Saturday. So hopefully, by the end of February I want to have that I/S from AW set up, my dental work done, website and Lodge fees completed and if all goes well, I hope to even have a new job. How’s that for starting off the new year with a bang?
Anyway Bloggers, that’s all for now.
