Sleepless in the midweek |
|
I did a bit of reading in “Runner” on the train ride going in Wednesday afternoon, its getting better. No hassles on the job and I got a decent total and a $!5 bonus. I got 4 CC sales for a total tonight of $655. So that’s 2 bonuses in a row. With a full pay cheque and if Rob pays me these bonuses and the cash on hand I’ll be able to pay off my website bill. I walked to Corona with some of the staff for my train home, noticing the weather changing and getting colder out there. I got my train and read a bit more and home.
I ended up playing “Oblivion” for a good hour or so and watched the evening news. I had a little macaroni/hamburger entrée thing for the microwave for supper and Anne came in after about 12:15am or so. It was a good night.
WOWIE sent me an email saying they fixed the problem with my account so I’ll be changing that a bit later.
One of the most controversial topics here in Alberta and perhaps in the country is the use of Police Tasers. IMO these are the early development of the ray gun. The Police Tasers here in Alberta (and perhaps where your reading this) is the X-26 model. Our Police forces here in Alberta have roughly 900 of these devices in operation resulting in a lot of deaths lately by their use. Under the scrutiny of public attention lately is the way in which police policy deploys these weapons, and are often met with tragic results. There has to be BETTER police policy when and how these weapons should be deployed. It seems to the casual observer that these lethal weapons and they are lethal should only be used if a police officer is about to be threatened by loss of life. That was their original intention wasn’t it? These weapons are dangerous and there should be better guidelines when using them. Tasers should not be used simply because they are there. They should be used as a last resort. It seems to me Police use these things because their either lazy or trigger happy or both. Tasers are a menace to the public and should be under review……….1:00pm I was so exhausted from having little sleep the night before that I went to bed about 3am. I might have got 40 minutes in and rested for a bit but up again about 5am. I tossed and turned and I think I finally fell asleep about 6am-ish. About 10am I head Anne get up (bathroom? Long time.) She was nowhere in the apartment. WTF? She left the front door unlocked. That pissed me off. I went back to bed and tried to sleep but couldn’t and after about 11am she came back saying she was at Superstore across the street. I slept maybe half an hour after that and got up to watch the news and the markets. No graphic on the markets but oil is around $42. Apple is up Microsoft down. Here in Alberta oil activity is down to half of what it was this time last year. These things are all in cycles.
At the moment I’m just enjoying my first coffee of the day. I only have 2 cups but I don’t think this is what’s keeping me awake at nights. No doubt this has something to do with my Diabetes.
I could have kicked myself last night because I forgot to buy a 6/49 lotto ticket. The draw Wednesday was for $25M. I checked on their website and nobody claimed it yet, so its now $35M! So, for sure, I’m going to go get a ticket for Saturday’s draw. I have lots of time. I usually get them Friday night or Saturday afternoon anyway.
As for yours truly I’ll give this a once over (as I’m not quite with it this afternoon) I’ve got an hour to post this on both blogs and then do my blog rounds. By then Anne should be up to make me a little lunch and I’ve got my bank card and it’s off into work for another 4 hours in the -18/-29C weather. What a change from last week. But at least Boots is inside for a few days and after work I get my cheque and it’s up to the bank and home. Because its so cold out there I think I’m just taking the train up to Central and go through the LRT concourse up to the side of the bank and whip inside to the ATM’s do my business and head back downstairs. This means I’m going to be late getting home.
Anyway Bloggers, that’s all for now.
