We went to bed about 4am listening to a bit of Coast. Good show about Area 51. I’ modified my theory slightly on UFO’s as I think the “UFO’s” are our own advanced aircraft. That’s what I used to think. The other possibility is if they are UFO’s they could be cashing in on the properties of Dark Matter as explained in the Michio Kaku video from Saturday. In other words they could be from this location but from another dimension in time piercing through our Dark Matter veil into this dimension. Think the TV show “Sliders” of a few years ago. When the satellite’s “Lisa” launches, Lisa will measure the gravity effects of Dark Matter.
Seems every time when I go to Audrey’s Books and I need to place an order I don’t have anything like a list with me. So I spent a couple of hours going through “Fantastic Fiction” looking at SFF authors for anything I might have missed. I went on a SFF book reading/buying hiatus in the 1990’s. Most of my books in my so called Library were from the 70’s and 80’s (currently in family storage at an undisclosed location.) I was barely keeping my head above water in the 1990’s but most of the good stuff I missed came out of the 1990’s and is mostly out of print. So I put together a list of about 50 of my favorite authors and new authors, like the Catherine Asaro’s, Kate Elliott’s and Dan Simmon’s not to mention the Battletech’s and Forgotten Realm’s that passed me by. Now that the New Millennium years have allowed me (and being married and having a steady job helps) to buy new books again. I’m going to carry this with me in my knapsack so next time T asks me if I have anything to Special Order, I’ll pull out my list. Eventually I’ll have it on the Iphone when I get one. A new toy from my income tax rebate maybe?
It may show -8C out there but we’ve got a -15C wind chill for the next few days. Nice huh? The weekend is supposed to be nice with winds from the West. I for one can’t wait for April. I took a picture of Anne dressed up in her parker looking up at our balcony from outside. Boots was crying for her. And believe me -15C wind chill in March is still pretty cold. The photo's didn't turn out as well as I'd like but I'm leaving them in anyway.
Hey, the Oiler’s signed Jordan Eberle to a 3 year deal. This guy is the real deal and is currently with the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League. He has 35 goals with Regina this year. Quite often though Juniors with impressive goal numbers lose that production when they join the NHL. He was drafted #22 overall. Good news for the Oiler’s. If he can make training camp in the fall.
Despite the cold weather, I have the widow opened full blast and it’s not that bad in here because I’m out of the wind. But Boots likes it as he’s in the window frame enjoying being outside when he wants to roam out on the balcony. He doesn’t jump off because it’s daylight.
I’m in the office at my usual time leaving out of here by 4pm. I’m going to try a different CC close for my CC sales tonight. No hockey game on tonight but Monday night Raw is on at 10pm for me when I get home- Woot!
It’s nice to see the DJIA climb back up there in the markets and holding at noon at 7500+ Also oil climbed as well and is now sitting at $53/barrel. That’s good news here. I’ll feel more “comfortable” when the Dow is sitting at 9000+ and $70 oil. Angus Watt predicted oil to go as high as $75 through the fall of 2010. I think he meant the fall of ‘09. That seems a bit more realistic to me. But like he and me (I’m not the expert here he is) you can not have economic growth without credit growth and that seems to be our (worldwide) problem now.
Tonight on Coast the topic is on Demon possession and exorcism. Not one of my favorite topics but it’s worth a listen. On Tuesday they have Dr. John L. Turner -Metaphysics, I like this one. Wednesday’s show topic is: Jim Elvidge -Programmed Reality. Coast has some pretty good shows coming up this week.
And finally the folks over there at SF Signal have a feature on the 10 best Science Fiction and Fantasy author Blogs from Blogs.com. I’ve got a few of those names on my link list as well.
Anyway, gang that’s all for now.
