not much going

on lately.

The Oiler game last night with Detroit here at Rexall Place was about 2 minutes from going into OT and Detroit pulled ahead 2-1 and we tied it and they scored again. The last few minutes was hectic but Detroit won 3-2 but barely.

What else? I finally got to the halfway mark of my book. At this rate I should have it read by the middle of April. yeesh. Oh and Anne went and ordered Pizza Hut for us for dinner so that was really nice.

My online friend Keith Graham in one of his most recent posts talked about how he usually writes about 5,000 words/day. He didn't say whether this was fiction words or not. I'm kind of tinkering around with a story of my own right now but it's just in the pre planning stages. I like to have an idea and then I'll fill in the spaces scene by scene and work on the rough draft as I go, but I'm a long way from a rough draft. I'm doing the initial part of about a scene/day. These "scenes" are basic sketches. When I get going into the rough draft, I usually write about 2,000 words/day and more on the weekends. When I get all the scenes more or less filled out and ready for the rough draft, I'll put in a word meter bar. Though this wont be ready for a long while yet

Anyway gang, that's about all for now

e. Jim

I include blog entries and memos and documentation that I do at work in the 5,000 words. Hardly any of it is fiction. When I am going strong I can do about 2,000 words in an hour, but I rarely get even an hour free to work on a story.
