It's the aftermath of the weekend |

The stock market might be up and down but at least the weather is warming up out here. Oil is back down to $48 something.
I’m tired of watching the markets. All I know is we have our jobs and I can always go to security and or pizza so it’s not like I don’t have options.
We were in bed about 3:30am listening to Coast for a bit and then bed. I slept from about 4am to 12:30pm. Yikes. So right now I’m waking up enjoying a coffee before work.
I tried to hunt down a local number for Service Canada to see about the health of my CPP and where it will sit at if I take out early retirement at 60 in a few years. I’m curios as to how much I’d get back, probably not very much, maybe $100 bucks/month.
We’ve got Boot’s inside and he’s got cuts and abrasions all over the place from other recent cat fights no less. Anne’s been using some peroxide to clean him up a little.
Rant alert: I mentioned about this briefly on my Blogger page about the new Star trek movie coming out. The only prequels that have worked for me at least have been the Star Wars ones. Star Trek was first a TV series back in the 1960’s, in this bloger’s opinion the best SF TV show ever. Even though the sets of the original show looked lame by today’s standards with CGI and green screen technology, it made up for it with great story telling. By now almost all Trek fans (including me) have seen the trailer to the up coming movie “Academy.” Notice how futuristic the bridge of the ship looks as compared to it’s predecessor from the 1960’s? I’m sure the movie will be a good film but somehow, I feel cheated. I mean how far back are we going to go with this franchise? Do we really need a film with new actors playing the original characters? I mean lets move on already. Personally I hope the movie bombs and sends a loud message to it’s creators and producers that this was a bad idea from the get go. I’d much rather see a movie based upon the chracters from the last Star Trek- “Enterprise.” I thought that series was the best since “Generations.” But Hollywood hasn’t got much left for the big screen and the small screen not a heck of a lot more going for it either. I mean look at their nightly line up on TV. Nothing but rehashed game and reality based TV shows and a hoard of The Simpson’s spin offs. Not to mention about 8 versions of CSI floating around. Of course I don’t watch a lot of movies or television for that reason. I could go on but that’s enough for now although I did like what I saw watching “Dollhouse” a few times but common, “Da kink in my hair?” Yeesh. Actually I didn’t mind watching a few of those episodes but it’s got nothing that will hold my interest for my limited attention span.
Tonight, finally something on TV I can relate to. Of course I’m referring to Monday night Raw. Last night Anne ordered the Pay Per View “Wrestlemania 25” right from the remote. It’ll show up on our cable bill for April and by that time I’ll get my income tax refund to help pay for it, that and the Rose Bowl pizza that’ll go along with it. I get what’s left over and if I have another part time job to go along with that then at the time, I might get the I phone-maybe.
Anyway, gang that’s all for now.
