A busy Saturday today |
|
Last “night” I left out of here right on cue feeling pretty good about things. At the redi mart I got my Saturday lotto ticket and diet Coke of course. Weather wise it was nice about +2C. I read from my new book of the month “Blood red Harp” or BRH. I still haven’t corrected the graphics yet on my website but I will sometime this weekend. I did on my Blogger page.
I got into the office just as the shift was underway and G got my paycheque for me. I got all my bonus money. Good stuff and I felt better about this. I got a lot of cans and bottles before shift. Super said something about how he owes me a coffee and I said I’d buy him one and gave him $4 bucks for 2 large Tim’s. We did CRC foundation and again for Alberta but this time the sales were not verified and the line hour was $75. That sounded a lot reasonable. I had another slow start and got nothing for the first half hour. Then I changed my pitch slightly and focused on what was successful before with another aspect of the campaign and that worked a lot better for me. I even got 2 CC sales and ended up with I think $260 something. I think for that the bonus was for 10 % of the value of the cards providing your at line hour. I might have got just under line hour.
So far no bonus money this week and because I was gone for my Lodge night last night I have just today to get one more chance to get bonus money for my paycheque next week.
April is going to be nice. Of course April fools day was just recently, the Oiler’s chance for a playoff bid is looking slim to none as their season winds down. I have Wrestlemania tomorrow and that’s going to be for 4 hours from 5-9. This evening there’s the Oiler’s facing off against Vancouver and that game will be here. The Oiler’s have 81 points with 4 games left. If they win all of those games and put a win streak of 4 games to close out their regular season and anyone of the 4 teams above the playoff cut line lose (St. Louis) the Oiler’s might stand a chance but if they lose tonight’s game, then it’s all but over. But there’s still 8 points up for grabs and if the Oiler’s win all 4 games (fat chance) then they could end u with 89 points. That and they’ll need a lot of help from out of town. Great time of year. Away from hockey but still on the same theme for April, we have the Easter long weekend which I’ll be taking advantage of and the weather will be changing. Plus the playoffs and Robert J Sawyer will be here April 23rd. And if that’s not enough I’ve got my Lodge work and income tax refund to look forward to.
As for today, it’s in for my 10-2pm shift. Anne’s working her 2-10pm shift. After work I’m going over to Audrey’s and get my book and home. Hopefully I can have a nap before game time. Because of pizza and Wrestlemania tomorrow we’ll be missing our Sunday breakfast so Anne wants to make that Saturday night.
Getting back to last night, after work I ran to my bus stop with my haul of cans and bottles. First time in a long time there was some light outside in the evening at 8:30pm. I got my bus but got off too soon across from The Bay. I got to my bank cashed my cheque and took out the necessary funds and waited below at Central station for my train feeling my BSL dropping. I hadn’t eaten anything, which doesn’t help. I read more from BRH, good writing and use of language. I don’t think I’ll be dismissing this book. My #183 bus was waiting for me and I got off at the end of the block at “Sleep Country” feeling really light headed. I found Rogers video still opened. They were doing brisk business. I got a bag of large bag chips (sour cream and bacon) and a double Mars bar and had a look around at their smart phones. The clerk didn’t know too much about them but they had a few nice pay as you go phones (PYP) there as well. I need a video PYP that has no contract. I need another look.
I got home and got comfortable. I wolfed down half the candy bar and some chips and felt better. Smackdown was a kind of “Best of the Week” from “fan access.” Something WWE puts together, it’s like a mini convention of sorts. Apparently they sold 73,000 tickets in Houston. It’s a big event for them.
Anne made me a nice dinner and I watched ECW before hauling off to bed. George was running Coast with open lines. He had a “Lost it” hot line for people that went ballistic while udder pressure kind of thing. I listened for about 10 minutes then turned it off and past out.
Around the Blogsphere, Robert J Sawyer confirms his book signing tour for his 18th science-fiction novel, “Wake.” He’ll be at Audrey’s April 23rd as mentioned above. That means I’ll need to get 2 hardcover books this month, Book one in RJS’s WWW trilogy, “Watch” and “Wake” will be released April 14th. I want to order both and get them signed so it means working some extra hours next week or something. Also around the Blogsphere today SF Signal has logged in with “What’s an Ebook worth?” Boycotting ebooks that are over $9.99. For novels I’d agree with that but I’m not big on ebooks even though it could be the future of publishing. SF Signal wants to point us to Adam @ Visions of Paradise talks about The Four Qualities of Great SF. very interesting reading.
This post is kind of written on the fly as it were, sorry for the lack of editing this morning, any way’s guys I got to get going here.
Anyway gang, that’s all for now
