It's been an interesitng month to say the least. |

Yesterday I shut the place down and locked up heading out of here at 4pm. I got into the office and Super put me in the front this time to do CRF. Hey, guess who showed up? Edgar! Haven’t seen him in a long time. He sat with me playing catch up at various times of the night. I had a slow start but things picked up. By the break I had I think $100 and all of that 4 sales. All they were asking for in this was 2 sales/hour. Still no CC sales. I got a whack of cans and bottles as well and in the 2nd half I changed my CRF pitch around to read a bet better. I focused in more on the cancer camps and I did a lot better with it closing in at $220 still no CC sales which is strange because I usually get some CC sales on a Friday night. I had a better 2nd half. What insured me to change my pitch was hearing Dave get a $250 CC sale. Off of a semi call no less. So that’s when I figured to do the job the right way instead of my way but I was doing taps all night.
I left out of the office to rush over to Audrey’s. At the special order desk there was the 2 Eberron books “Blade of the Flame” series by Tim Waggoner. These look really good. Book 3 is already on order. Also there were about 5 Star Wars “New Jedi Order” books in there for me as well as the RA Salvatore “Cleric Quintet” Omnibus. It read pricey all over the cover. At the check out counter the girl there reminded me that I have a $20 book club membership credit. Hey I could get the Omnibus, just as I was going downstairs one of the staff pointed out RJS is coming here for a reading (next week) They lined the stairs going down to basement whence I came a whack of his book 2 of his WWW trilogy, “Wake.” I figured special order took priority. I picked up the Omnibus and paid for everything feeling good about this (getting a free book) I made my way down to the LRT.
There was Brent waiting for his train going my way. We had a nice chat. He said one of these days he’d bring his Xbox 360 hard drive along and on my monitor at home show me what kind of character he’s playing on Oblivion. I hadn’t eaten my lunch Anne had made for me and I could feel my bsl level dropping. I decided to pop into Rogers for a bag of chips but getting off the train I noticed this elderly woman in a security guard uniform. The logo on her shoulder patch kind of looked like the guard company I was interested. She was reading a book just as the train was pulling into Clairview. The book kind of looked fantasy. I asked her if she was with the guard company in question but it was the one Anne had mentioned. Wait now, was this that woman that Anne said worked as a guard? So I asked if this woman worked at the guard company and she said no it’s X. Then I made the connection it’s the same woman. She used to work at my wife’s place of work Consumer Contact a last year before they closed down. We talked about her guard company, she volunteered her name. She was pulling a shopping hand cart with some of her books and stuff catching the #11. She said she’s in the same complex we’re in.
So I caught the #183 up to 137th and walked down to Rogers to get a bag of chips and to take a look around. I wasn’t going to be long. Looking at their Xbox stuff they had controllers going for $70 but they also had “Fable 2” as well but couldn’t answer a question for me about the rocket stick. If I take the guard job, a netbook and a rocket stick would certainly be 2 items I could take advantage of.
I got home with my cans and bottles and got myself organized. I watched a bit of Smackdown but was more interested in catching what was left of the Vancouver Saint Louis playoff game heading into the 3rd period. It was 2-0 Canucks. Yea. Go Canucks go! They ended up in a 3-0 shutout. They play next Sunday night in St. Louis and dollars to donuts it’s going to be a way different game then the one played out last night.
Anne came in and made me some dinner while I was watching local news. She had to run up to Walmart so I played some Oblivion before bed. She came in and about 1pm I saved and shut the console down. I went to bed shortly after 1pm and Coast had a great show covering UFO disclosure.
I decided what I’m going to do is get “Wake” on the day of RJS’s visit here. This will be my book for next week. I can get Fable 2 another time.
As f or today, I’m going in for my 10am-2pm shift. If I’m up to it I might just go over to the City Center food court and get a bite to eat and come home have a nap and then watch some hockey. I think there’s the game #2 of the Calgary/Chicago series on tonight.
Anyway gang, that’s all for now
