I got out of here at my usual time and I’m able to read a bit from my new book “The legend that was Earth,” by James P. Hogan. It was James P. Hogan’s “Inherit the stars” (1977) that got me reading SF again after a long hiatus. I discovered this book in 1978 and got the reading bug again from there. I’ve stopped reading off and on in the 1990’s because I didn’t have any money for new books. I’d get maybe 2-3 new books to read/year in the 80’s/90’s if that even. But it was James P. Hogan’s work that led me to others.

I got my breakfast at Tim’s and it’s a beautiful morning out there. I took my insulin and had my breakfast. On the job I did ok in the morning. Nothing great and I got 3 CC sales before break. Super had us do a lot of different campaigns today but I think I got 4 CC sales for a total of $115 and a total of $520. I like the job and all but it’s getting harder and harder to do.

I called Audrey’s about the 3 remaining Star Wars books I have, but “Recovery” wasn’t among them. I was able to read a bit more from my book on the way home and I called Anne to let her know I’m reading at Clairview waiting for the #183 bus to roll in. I called Nathan as well to confirm Lodge practice for Sunday night at 7pm.

I got home and Anne made me a great supper and she headed out to work for 5 hours. I tried having a nap but no way could I get any sleep. But I was able to catch game #2 of Chicago at Vancouver playoff game and the Hawks split the first 2 games. Anne came in about 11pm and said there’s more cutbacks at her job as she might be losing even more hours. I think her company is going to close up shop here soon the way this keeps going. Which means I’m going to have to work more hours to pick up the slack. I don’t want to do this but I’ll have no choice if she loses her job.

Anne’s out getting us pizza right now so that’s ok. I updated my book covers on my welcome block but I’ve got to clean this up somehow. I didn’t win on this evenings 6/49 draw. I got 1 number and nothing on the extra, oh well.
