Sunday and Monday were busy to say the least |
|
Hard to believe that this blog grew out of a daily journal that began 29 years today. Monday May 12th. The dates are different by one day is essentially it was the 2nd Monday in May. Thus here I am 29 years later. Wow and to think I was just a 27 year old young man. I’m still a kid at heart and if I had the funds I’d still be buying, reading and collecting comic books.
I took Anne out for a mothers day brunch at Smities just over here by the Manning crossing. We latter went into Safeway for some pop. Yesterday was the first time I’ve been in a Safeway in years. I think a few years ago Anne and I popped into a one in Northtown Mall to get some Chinese food but I was surprised to see the automated checkout machines. They had about 4 of them. We bought 10 2 liter bottles of No name diet Cola and ran for our #182 across the parking lot but it was just leaving and so we found a shopping cart to push the pop over to the this shelter: This is my wife pushing the thing up an incline:
I took a few other pictures as well, like the LRT train heading downtown under the 137th st. over pass. The mass of grey on the right is a hotel. Holy smokes what a job that was! I got a call from my ISP tech support and it took us 3 hours to finally clean up my system. But it cost me a splitting headache which is why my wife suggested I cal in and stay home for the night. But man those guys in Nanaimo sure know their stuff. They used a shard program and took control of my computer and did a heck of a job cleaning out my system.
Hey I got a call from Russell/Audrey’s books saying that Star Wars “Recovery-New Jedi Order,” is really an Ebook. The series remains then unbroken. Good stuff. I’ll have all 19 books once they all start coming in.
After that big job we did with overhauling my PC Anne suggested I take the evening off. I wasn’t feeling well anyway and I have a splitting headache developing as it is. I phoned the office and called in sick. This way I get to watch the Vancouver/Chicago game.
While I was on the phone with Russell I asked about the Kate Elliott series “Crown of Stars.” Now I have the 1st one when I bought it August 9th 2002.
According to Fantastic Fiction, the author has another 6 books in this series. And I Haven’t even begun “Symphony of Ages” yet by Elizabeth Haydon.
Speaking of great books, I’m coming along just fine with “The Legend that was Earth,” by James P. Hogan. I’m 153/503 into the book. After this it’s onto Greg Bear’s “Darwin’s radio” but I’ll be getting to that later this month (I hope)
I’ll be posting this after Monday night Raw later tonight but one more thing about my diary, 29 years in the making. Here’s a photo of how the original diary looks today. It began about this time in the evening right after I had a chat with Robert Meyer. The idea came to me as a suggestion from Richard
That I begin a diary of my magical operations. It wasn’t supposed to be a daily journal recording my musings and ramblings but it made sense to me back then and still does to reflect my daily experiences into the written word. I had no idea this would turn out to be a Blog. Of course I don’t share everything. There are some things I can’t talk about and some things are way to personal.
It was Anne that suggested I take last night off and I got into watching the last of the Caps at Pens game when a my headache came on. I got Anne to give me an Advil and that wasn’t helping. She made me a nice deluxe macaroni and the good chicken strips. When I get headaches this time of year they’re usually sinus headaches. Somewhere midway between the Canucks/Chicago game my head was throbbing. But the pill kicked in and near the end of the game I felt a lot better shortly after 9pm. Right now I feel fine.
Anne made me a nice lunch during the 2nd half of Raw, which on a scale of 1-10, I’d give Raw an 8.5. It was really good.
Anyway gang, that’s all for now
e. Jim
