Rain and snow mix today

Anne came home to tell me how they’re cutting back her hours on her job. She hates her job anyway but she tolerates it. I hate my job as well but I tolerate it. My wife says they go through their slow periods.

Holy smokes, the markets are backing off again. Oil dropped down to $57 but I think it’s going to get to $60 before the end of the month.

According to the 6/49 website nobody won the $25M yesterday, so the draw on Saturday is $40M. That’s a lot of bucks but single winners don‘t get that kind of money. It’s usually groups of people pooling together.

Here is a picture I took of Boots relaxing just now. The other cats get all stressed out when he’s here but we keep him away from the other cats. I had a close call with that last Sunday. That's enough cat photos for awhile.

The markets are climbing up again. The Dow is floating around 8300, oil is down $57-9. Big news out of Oshawa the major auto plant that has been there for over 43 years is closing laying off close to 3000 jobs. What happened to this bail out money they got from the Feds? I know if we call into Oshawa we’re going to get a lat of that.

Locally the City wants to introduce more stops along the LRT line bringing the train slower. More stops mean building more stations and I don’t see how they’re able to do this along the existing line. I know the Nait line is under construction at the Epcor tower site. This topic might be elaborated on the news tonight.

Anne’s going to check on what hours they want from her next week and they’ll be posting that for her for Saturday. If they still have those 9 hours cut, then I’ll make up for them working 3 afternoons. I’m not going to like doing this because it’s hard on me and I’d insist on taking Saturday off if I’m going to be doing something as ambitious as that.

Tonight I get my paycheque and it’s off to the bank. I’ve been pretty lucky lately being able to catch the bus and up Jasper Ave to my bank and get all those details taken care of and able to catch my 9:20pm train back. But it’s a lot of hustle and effort to get to my bus stop by Tim’s to catch the only bus heading up past The Bay. For now I get 2 days off after Saturday and Anne says I can still have $20 bucks. That’s my allowance so I can get 1 book and a lottery ticket for the big $40M draw Saturday.

And finally SF Signal via Trent has a nifty interview with CJ Cherryh. I’ve got 5 of her Omnibus books on order at Audrey’s but they’re slow in coming. I haven’t read her before but thanks to the Omnibus format I’ll have a lot of catching up to do.

Anyway gang, that’s all for now

e. Jim
