Job issues and the weekend |

4:10pm:> A bit of an update since leaving out of here at 9am this morning when the stuff below was posted: I got into Tim's for my breakfast and got into the office. I had my breakfast and we did ASB again. Just beforewe began however I discovered that the form I have was to have my vacation pay acrude not to release it. Super said I can use that form and he put it on the desk for me. He's aware that Edgar and I are missing our stat pay. I had a slow start getting nothing the first hour and a bit. The 2nd half was a lot better. No CC sales but I ended up with $320 for a not bad total. I headed over to Audrey's and took a look at what I got there. There's 20 books for me behind the counter for a total of $285. Not bad. I caught the train home and read for a bit as, tired as I was. I went to Rogers for chips for the hockey game tonight and that's my evening enterainment. But when I was over at Rogers I looked at their new phones. I like the HTC Magic and I'm seriuosly considering this phone this summer. I've been inside the apartment for about an hour now. Anne called half an hour ago and I'm ready for bed. More latter
I got into the Baker Center pharmacy and I bought my 6/49 ticket for tonight’s $4M draw. I say high to the guys in the back and get some pop cans. That sort of thing. Then there was DC at the end of the shift handing out some pay cheques. I got mine but no stat pay and I got docked half an hour. Greg was right, HO is beginning to dock our kick off time. But then again there was one shift last week where I got started late and they docked me for that. I was feeling really pissed off but I got my form from Greg’s office to release my vacation pay. I’m putting that in for Rob for Monday so I can get it for Friday. My gross pay year to date is going to amount to a nice little bit of cash for me on Friday. The equivalent of one pay cheques worth. I ended up fixing one of the staff’s monitor. She’s a big time contributor to my bag of empties each night. I was still PO’d and even after Super moved us all to the back system 20. But I checked my problems at the door when we began to do the ASB. Actually I surprised myself pulling in about $130 by break and a CC sale. I got the rest of the cans and bottles and at the end of the night I mentioned to Super about my stat pay. So he said he’d see me about it on Saturday. Edgar agreed to give me a ride up the street to my bank with my empties and I was able to cash my cheque and I was able to read a bit on the way home. I wasn’t even the mood to watch Smackdown I was that upset. Anne didn’t seem to mind to much by this.
I’m going to go in on Monday afternoon and work the afternoon shift all this week. Anne and I are going through some tough times here right now until I get my hours stabilized so the extra hours will help us. I can’t even buy a book this week but I’m going to pick up a stack of my special order next Friday.
Today it’s back to the job and I’m going to have to get some things moving about my payroll. If HO is going to give me another run around about an overpayment this time then for sure, I’m calling Alberta Employment Standards in on this. People still call this the “labor relations board.” I’m tired of this company ripping me off. Sure I get to take the pop cans out of the garbage bins and all and my wife takes them to the depot a few times a month but it’s not easy money. After work I’m heading over to Audrey’s just to see if anything else came in and mention to those in charge I’ll be in on Friday to pick up more books. I don’t want them to think that I’m going to run out on them.
Anyway gang, that’s all for now
e. Jim
