Trolls, Zombies, markets and more... |

Around the time Anne had her car we used to be frequent visitors to the Eastglen pool here in Edmonton. They have an adult swim from 11-1am Friday and Saturday nights. It’s only for 2 hours but ETS’s last train leaves at 1:30am. I’d like to go and partake in this like we used to do around 2002. Hard to believe that was 7 years ago. We stopped going because she lost the use of her car at the time. She had it in the shop and let the thing languish away.
I got out of here with Anne coming in with me to Rexall Place. I got downtown to the pharmacy and bought my 6/49 ticket for Wednesdays $4M draw.
Then I went upstairs and managment was there. I got a seat in the back. Only 4 of us to do CPA. I got a nice collection of cans and bottles to take home. Super wanted $200/lh but no way. None of us 4 did very well. I had this image of a Zombie, thinking that’s how slow my lack of sales were coming in. In the 2nd half as we were doing Ontairo CPA (big clue Zombie) I got a CC sale though. In the 2nd half we did CWF, this time I felt like the sales were a Troll. Not quite the “speed” of a Zombie but a troll moves just as fast. Trolls don’t “propagate” the species like Zombies do. So all night the “Zombies and Trolls” were slowing me down. There were a few CPA highlights. These would be warriors with swords. But the warriors couldn’t fend off the Trolls and Zombies before 9pm came along. The Trolls and Zombies were working in cahoots against me all last night.
I was glad to get out of that circus and towards Corona station with a bag full of empties for my efforts and a seat for myself on the train which I was able to read more of ICB. I needed some good old space opera to get away from the Zombies (my lack of sales)
I got home and Anne was outside looking up at me from the grass. She was trying to find Boots who has been away for a couple of days, We think the birds are eating any food we leave out there for him over night. Anne was saying that Donna is coming out to take us to Jasper Sunday July 5th. I’m going to bring our camera for sure.
When I went looking for empties in the break Rob had his office opned up as sometimes DC and Super go in there to have a smoke. My vacation pay form was sitting on top of a pile of times sheets and review reports. On the form there was the “payroll officer’s” name from HO and some other notes etc scribbled on my form. If I get my vacation pay then I wont be surprised.
Yesterday the markets started off with a bang. The Dow went up over 200 points to close out around 8700. Oil was sitting at $68 but dropped by a few cents Monday. At this rate we’ll see $70 oil by the end of this week! Does this mean the economy is rebounding? I doubt it. If oil is still at $60 later in mid October, I’ll be very surprised. If I had money I’d buy oil stocks in November when they’re going to drop to $40. They’ll climb back up by this time next year and that’s when you sell. Buy low sell high right?
I don’t have much of a main topic right now. Maybe I will later………..1:35pm> Another beautiful day out there. I got up around noon to check in on the local news and fix myself up a coffee. The markets are pretty quiet today but the dollar has gone up $92CND. That’s not bad and yet the economy is so stale. Unemployment numbers for Alberta wont be out until about the middle of June and according to Stats Canada we’re still sitting at 5.8% here in Edmonton. Camrose is lower by 4.7%. The highest is North Eastern Alberta at 7.5%.
I watched Monday night Raw and it was a pretty good show. On a scale from 1-10 I’d rate it an 8.5. And it seems Triple H is doing promotional work in Japan for the WWE’s next tour there.
Anyway gang, that’s all for now
