last night I packed up all my gear and

left out of here for the office. At the pharmacy I bought myself a 6/49 quick pick for Saturdays draw and up to the office. I collected a ton of empties and got #!5 and Super didn’t move me. I settled in with a coffee. Fortunately I didn’t have anyone beside me. I do better that way. In my first sale I got a $50 Cc sale which helped. I think I had maybe $195 by break. I got more empties and had somebody sit beside me in the empty chair. Super had to reset the taps and we had an extra 5 minutes off. By break I had 2 CC sales. I did alright in the 2nd half as well pulling in 2 more CC sales for 4 on the night and $400 by the end of the night. I left out of there in the rain. Yes finally we got some rain. This in itself was amazing. Crossing the parkade there I could feel my bsl dropping and I needed to get something sweet. I went into Tim’s to get a Boston cream donut. That helped. There were extra cars on the train heading home because of the Eskimo game and at Stadium, I got the hoard of Esk fans. Anne was waiting for me at home cooking some parmesan chicken. Very nice. I watched the news and at midnight got to my computer and here I am.

Over the last few hours I’ve been doing some piano theory and got the proper chord arrangements to play “Happy birthday.” I went to several sites and they all play this song the same way. Also, I learned how to build the 4 basic chord groups the right way. I used to think Major chords were 4+3 half steps not counting the root but actually its 5+4 counting the root. The root is always counted even when doing minor chords, Diminished and Augmented Chords. This is Grade 1 stuff but its easy to commit to memory.

l get my pay cheque tonight (even though bm had them yesterday. They’re trying to prevent the staff from cashing them in on Thursday so they’ll have a full house on Friday nights. It makes sense but “mangers” get their cheques Thursdays of course. I miss getting my cheque Thursdays because it means I’ve got a lot of extra running around to do on a Friday night. Anne said I can have the $20 to take into work with me so I can get my book after work and then go to cash my cheque. I’d like to do that every Friday. Or get a new job.

The real estate board or whatever they’re called stated that the recession (at least here in Edmonton) is over. Yeah it may be over but there’s the recover aspect of it that’s just as hard if not harder then the actual recession itself to recover from. The real estate board is saying this because of all the home sales late that have jumped to new records this year. More homes were sold here in Edmonton then at any other time in the last several years. If people have money to buy homes that means they’ve got money from jobs. But the numbers don’t lie. Or do they? Yes homes are being bought in record numbers but here in Edmonton we’re still sitting at an unemployment rate of 6.6%. Oil has fallen in price from $70 as of last Friday now down to $66. There’s lots of oil left in storage. Here in Alberta there are fewer wells dug then ever before and because of the new royalty structure companies are moving to BC and Saskatchewan. Event though last week The province announced an extension of $1.5B royalty breaks to the oil and gas industry. Apparently for every 100 wells drilled employs 15,000 people. The royalty scheme announced last year took affect January 1st and it’s having an impact on the economy here. Also this week The province had put together a think tank of notable Albertans on how to diversify our economy. Interesting times.

Last night before break Spike TV had the original Star Wars movie “A new hope.” I got to see bits and pieces of it in between calls. I especially like the briefing scene before they go to the death star. My favorite movie of all time. Also reminds me of the 8 or so “New Jedi Order” books I have on hold for me at Audrey’s. After I get the rest of this series I’m going to focus on Star Wars “Legacy.”

Anyway gang, that’s about all for now.
