Happy 4th of July to my American readers. |
|
l did a little reading on the way into the office and got a lot of empties when I got in. All, I got my cheque and all the hours were right on. I sat in at dialer #15 and had a slow start and by 7pm I had I think $195 and 2 cards. I thought Super was going to move me but he didn’t and I ended up with 4 cards and $405. Not bad for a 3.5 hour shift.
Right after that I headed over to Audrey’s. It was a beautiful July evening out there. Trevor and Russell were holding down the fort. I picked up Book 4 from Kate Elliot’s “Crown of Stars.” Trevor said that Audrey’s was having a 20% off sale on their Science Fiction for the month of July. Sweet. I’ve got about 15 books left as the stack is slowly coming down.
My BSL was dropping so I headed over to Tim’s for a blueberry fritter and ate that while waiting for my bus. It was very nice. My #5 came by right away and I got to my bank did my banking (no problems) and hurried down to the train at Central as that came by right away. I was trying to spot Anne as she would be just letting out at Bay Station before my stop but the train was moving past to fast pulling in for me to spot her. I took a seat with my empties and looked around in the train, no Anne. However something caught my eye but it only registered as this woman was leaving out the train doors at Churchill. It was Anne a seat up from me across the isle. Was that her? She walked with a limp. If that was her then we missed each other as she was looking for me and I was looking for her in opposite directions. Should I run out the middle car I was on and jump on the next one just to make sure? Nah, I’ll wait it out and see if we connect at the last stop at Clairview. She recognized me immediately at Clairview and as we pieced this together we had a laugh over it. I gave her some cash on the bus as she rode only as far as the theaters to go the rest of the way Superstore and I took one of her purses home.
That was funny. I had a good night. She said she did as well. I watched a bit of Smackdown and Anne came back making us some stew and I finished half of the beer she makes her stew in but it was kind of flat. We watched the news and had supper and I watched markdowns main event and that brought me up to midnight and for the last hour and a half I listened to some music and piano theory. Right now I’m about Grade 2 piano. I mean if I was to be tested right now.
Anne’s been out shopping up at Walmart for the last hour or so. We have our rent money ready for our rent. Our jobs are going ok, life is pretty good right now despite this recession................7:40pm> I got up around noon feeling slightly groggy what with that travel pill in my system. I did some blogging and message board stuff and enjoying a coffee. I woke Anne up like she asked at about 1am and saw this scene unfolding. I couldn’t resist:
Anne got up and headed out to do her shopping because we’re off to Jasper for a Sunday afternoon. An afternoon in the mountains. I did a bit of piano theory and worked on Library thing and Good reads. A couple of social networking sites I belong to. I had some lunch as Anne got ready to head out to work for her 5-9 and got involved in watching “Commando” an old Arnold Schwarzenegger movie an AMC but their commercials were so long I decided to grab my book and read in between the commercial breaks until it was over. It’s one of my favorite Arnie movies.
In keeping with cat photos today, I recently took this photo of Sporty and something going on with one of the other cats from behind Sporty. WTF? I don’t know what Silky is doing back there behind Sporty but…………
I decided to see what were the top 5 posts for the month of June, solely based upon page views, out of 22 posts for June. This is not a 100% sure thing because some of those page views have been from me but here goes:
Out of 22 posts for June my lowest page view day was 4. My highest page view day was 21. I have a couple of ties in there was well. I had 1 post at 21 page views, 1 post at 20 page views and 3 posts at 18 page views they break down as:
1.) Trolls, Zombies, markets and more...
2.) The job, a night off, grasshopers, SF authors and a whole bunch of other things.
3.) A fitting post to end off a lousy week
4.) Kind of quiet around here lately
5.) The job woes and other crap
The stats are interesting but like I said they are not a full representation of the value of the posts because they don’t indicate how long a visitor has stayed.
And finally, I’ve been hearing Blogsphere rumblings about the upcoming Star Wars TV series. It seems that there is according to Sci-fi Now, that progress is moving forward and writers are about to be assembled. One name being passed around is John Edwards of Firefly. Personally I’d like to see Rick Berman produce the new series when its finally released. Berman was great on Star Trek.
Anyway gang, that’s about all for now.
