Lately thanks to my diabetes and the heat sleep is pretty hard to come by. It’s called restless legs from neuropathy. The arms and legs get soar and the body needs to be moved constantly (tossing and turning) With that said, I got about maybe 2 hours of sleep all morning. My bsl is 8.1 and that’s decent enough.

I’ve been trying to reach over the phone some one to talk with about rental subsidy. All you get is the bureaucratic maze of the automated voice dialing system. “At anytime you can pres “0“ to reach an operator. Then you get the busy signal and it repeats itself. There are options but even then you get the busy signal. Nothing worse then the bureaucratic busy signal. The receptionist board is probably lit up the whole day. I’ve got the address and it looks like I’m going to have to go down to the office itself directly. Knowing my luck this is the wrong address. With the amount of calls incoming you’d think they’d have a call center.

Other then that not much is going on right now. It’s laundry day for my wife tonight as she’s off for a few days. As for me I’ve got that project with rental subsidy and I’m going to try and get something to do with security. I need $50 for the license fee and I think I’m going to check into it. Put my name in again at the old guard company I used to work at and if I clear the initial obstacle I’ll tell bm I’m taking a leave of absence. For how long I don’t know. Even part time security is better then full time for what I’m doing now. It’d mean I’d be on my feet a lot but I can sit down a lot as well. I like the idea because if I can get my old site back think of all the books I can read and opportunity to write. With an Iphone as my companion and 3 days off, I’m beginning to like the sound of this more and more. If I can get through the first part that is. So I think what I’m going to do is to ask for my vacation pay, take what’s left in there and go apply (if they have openings) then I’ll go to the cop shop and apply for the license. I could be on my terms out of my current job this month. If all goes well. Anne will get me a little netbook PC for word processing. The Iphone for surfing the net etc. However, it’s all in the timing. This September 15^th will mark the 9^th year in my current job. To be active this long is really quite an achievement in my industry. Other people have come and gone but I’ve stayed. The longer I wait the more vacation pay I’ll be collecting as well so there’s that. Also, I can put some pressure on payroll form my missing vacation pay and if the licensing works out ok from the cop shop and bm wants to fire me, I’ll leave on my own accord.

Because I didn’t sleep very well over the last few days Anne might want me to take today off, but that’s only if the gst cheque comes in. The cheque came in but that‘s for rent. Looks like I’m going into work tonight after all.

I think the last time I had a week off was when I was in the hospital recovering from diabetes. Yet people all around me at work take time off, my wife has three days off and I’m in there 6 days/week. This week, with more hours. Other then tomorrow.
