Yesterday was a decent day.

I’m feeling all right heading outside yesterday for my 4pm commute. It was overcast and breezy and I was feeling pretty good. I got downtown to Corona station without incident and to the pharmacy for my diet Coke and Saturday’s 6/49 quick pick worth $4M. I got a collection of empties and my pay cheque. Rob made a brief cameo. Nothing was said about yesterday because my Lodge meetings off are prearranged. Everything was all right on my cheque and I got about $40 in bonuses. The TV was on and I wanted the end dialer hoping to catch the Montreal/BC CFL game. We began CF. I had a slow start and ended up with no sales the first half and then in the 2nd half I finally got a $20 CC and sold some tickets ending up with $145. Not to bad. No bonus money tonight.

So I head out to my bus stop and recognize a couple of people from work sitting down having a donut. I would have liked to have gone over to Audrey’s but I’m getting my Tim’s breakfast this morning. I caught my #5 bus to my bank and did my banking without a snag. I’m waiting at Central for my train home and I board and I see this gal with purple blue hair (teenagers) with her feet up. I was kind of rude and I said in a cold voice to have her feet off where I need to sit Then we recognized each other, “Oh you work at..” I noticed she had a small box of Tim Horton’s donuts and I made small talk about them and she offered me one. I paid her for a honey crooner as my blood sugar was dropping. “What are you reading?” I asked and she held up a copy of a Warhammer 40K book “Space Marines.” I pulled out my copy of “The Space Wolf.” We laughed. I think she said she’s in grade 9. Just a high school kid. But I made a friend for the moment. It made my ride home a bit more enjoyable at leas to her stop at Belvedere. She said it was her last night on the job because she’s in school and is finding the workload and the job too much.

I got my bus and home without incident and Anne called. I explained about the high school kid reading the same series as I am on the train home. I should clarify to Anne that it’s her last night on the job because she’s still in school type thing. I should have just kept my mouth shut.

Smackdown wasn’t bad this evening but the end was predictable. Anne should be home in about 20 minutes. All in all I had a decent night on the job after all. Speaking of which I asked Jerry if he’s ever been to Edmonton before. He said until he was asked to run the Edmonton office he never even knew it was on the map. He said he’s been with the company in Vancouver for about a year and a half. So, did the brass have him in mind before they got rid of Moe, DC etc? I wonder what he’s going to think of Edmonton winters come November?

While watching wrestling I couldn’t help but snap this picture of Sparky sprawled out on the recliner in all his glory. This would have to be the cute cat picture of the week. I take a lot of cat pictures.

So this morning I’m up about 8:00am to get ready and get out of here for a rare Saturday shift to get 23.5 hours. I thought it was 27.5 my bad.

Anne came home just now and is heading up to Walmart and I had to snap this photo of her. She said her and Donna bought the jacket she’s wearing in this photo at Value village for $10 and Donna said it’s a Nike jacket regularly priced at about $100.

I’m getting this all out of my system now while I have the energy because after I have my nap when I get home at about 3pm it’s going to be a heavy reading session, Warhammer 40K style. So far the book passed the 50 page chuck test.

I’ve been trying to work on a Twitter Followers counter similar to the one at SF Signal but for my site. It’s different then the Feedburner chick lit as Feedburner is about subscribers, which I might have 3. I’d like to turn Followers into subscribers and I think I have 14 Followers but these are people that are usually trying to sell me something. I’m a little confused as how the Followers counter works so I have a question at the Twitter help form and I‘m awaiting a reply.

And finally this weekend is the Labor day CFL Classic. It’s a CFL tradition, Edmonton/Calgary Stampeders. Calgary usually hosts the Monday game and then Edmonton hosts the grudge match coming up on Friday. Good times.

Anyway gang, that’s about all for now

Jim
