From last night and today for the weekend |
|
I’m still working on my Friday night as I type this. I got my 6/49 quick pick at the pharmacy. Upstairs I got my cheque and I asked Greg for the VP release form. Bm was at the end of a long week and wasn’t prepared to get into this but he helped m fill out the form and he said I should fax this into payroll so they’d have it Monday morning. This way I could hopefully have what I’m expecting, Ha, Ha, by next Friday. I’m not going to hold my breath.
After I did all that I gathered up the empties. I had a good start to the shift but after the break sales were far and few between. I got a couple of SA’s and got a few sales from them but not the amounts SA’s are ordinarily accustomed to give. I ended up with $135 on the night and no cards. I got a whack load of empties on the way out and on my way over to Audrey’s. They had a double book reading and singing at Audrey’s. Two poets and they broke out the wine and cheese for patrons of the event. I got Star Wars New Jedi Order (Traitor) and I have another 5 books there. The last of the 3 Jedi books and the 2 Dresden books. On my way out I ordered “The New Space Opera 2” and the first 3 John Ringo “Posleen Wars.”
On my way down the stairs I found a plastic bottle with fluid in it. Then I noticed about 4 other beer cans and I scooped them up and drained them in the waste bins. One more look and I saw 2 Coors lite unopened good as new still in their plastic wrapping. Good haul. Those are in the fridge cooling for us for later today.
I got a good haul and the City had extra cars on the train home so that’s always a bonus and I got in and did some admin stuff. Anne called saying she was on a 10 minute break. As for me I’m going to wait for her to come home and then go to bed and try and grab 5 hours of sleep. I’m tired enough.
I’m looking at buying Joe Abercrombie’s “First Law” series. Audrey’s still has the first 2-3 in Trade format. The author has a 4th book coming out soon but I’m not sure it’s in the same universe as “First Law.”
These Saturday mornings (going in for the early shift) are hard on me. I went to bed shortly after 1am and listened to Coast. Art Bell was host for a rare Friday night but with a guest. Two of them actually : Richard C. Hoagland and Mike Heiser discussing an event called Spiricom. “God and Et.” Well that’s what I gathered from my state of being in a drowsy semi comatose condition. It sounded like a soft topic so shutoff the radio and I tried to get some sleep.
Despite that sleep was almost non existent for me over night. Mainly (live and learn) due to the 7 hours I got the night before. Long story short, lack of sleep.
Ok, I finally got a bit of the gist of how to play this new lotto max game to replace the Super 7 game. You play $5 for 3 lines of 7 numbers. Match all 7 and you get anywhere from a free ticket 3 matches $20- $10-50M. There was no winner for Fridays 1st draw last night. When I start putting in extra hours, I’m going to go in for 9 Max lines and 1 6/49 quick pick and 1 Western quick pick. $20 bucks a week. Yeah I know that’s over a $1,000/year but so is the possibility of winning $10M a lot. I get asked that a lot. “Why do you play when the odds are against you?” Better then having no odds at all.
On my plate today then, I’m heading straight to Corona station downtown and up the (finally) repaired escalator and into Tim’s for a biscuit sausage
Hash brown breakfast. I’ll work my way into the office and get a dialer and enjoy my breakfast and hopefully have a decent shift. Then home. Anne’s working from 4pm-closing, So I get a night off like I did last night and just before she leaves there’s the Eskimo game on TSN. The Oiler’s play a pre season game at GM place tomorrow. The regular season begins next week Saturday for the Oilers.
Speaking about Oiler tickets for Season ticket holders this year are for The Gold club: $7,126. 20. I don’t know if that’s before or after the discount. Wow, $7k for hockey NHL tickets? That’s $172 a ticket in the lower bowl above the players bench. Standing room is $1, 292.85 is $32 a ticket. And this doesn’t even include tax. Oh and according to the Oiler website, Rexall place for the 41 games during the regular season are sold out. And there’s a recession going on? I see Monday night Raw, every night the place is packed every city and town they go to. And there’s a recession going on?
I see Monday night Raw every week and those arenas are packed.
I see Mnday night Raw every week and the arenas are packed Coast to Coast. ...
