Anne gave me my sleeping pill but se says she’s not getting anymore. Of that brand or no more? I had a good 10 hours of badly needed sleep but all my outside daylight is gone as I wanted to walk around and take some photo’s of the construction sites around here. I’m not going to learn anything on a Sunday anyway.

Anne’s out doing shopping at the truck. Early this morning about 3:15am I finally completed reading of “The Space Wolf” before bed and I started reading Sheri S. Tepper “The Family tree.” Today I’m doing more lodge memory work and reading. Here’s my look at “The Space Wolf” omnibus.

“The Space Wolf” Omnibus.

Review Summary: On the grim death world of Fenris the home of The Space Wolves Ragnar is revived after an invasion force that nearly slaughters himself and wipes out his village. Ragnar is enhanced and introduced into the Space Wolves. He fights orks heretics and mutants in the name of Russ and The Emperor in the 41st millennium.

My Rating: 4/5

Pros: I breathed a sigh of relief when this book passed the first 50 page rule. I knew from page 1 it wasn’t going to be a chucker.William King’s reservoir of language makes the characters in this book come alive. Almost on every page I had to look up a new word.

Cons: Where are the women? Women are almost non existent in the world of the Space Wolves or they are in supportive roles: Limited on dialogue but the action makes up for it. I didn't like the Single ' quotation mark thing.

Bottom line: Basically this book can be summed up as Vikings in Space. I had fun with this book and I’m looking forward to the next Omnibus of Space Wolves after this one, which is to be rleased soon if not out in hard cover.  So far the world of Warhammer looks very interesting to me. This book has everything; military fiction, strong SFF elements some humor and great action. The world building was awesome in a mix of a world of military and religion that worked well for me. I liked how King uses terms like divination and auguries to express machines and processes.

Would I recommend this book? Yes absolutely. You get 3 great novels for one thing. You get Science Fiction and Fantasy and military fiction.

Anyway gang, that’s about all for now
