About 12:40am I was wiped out and I hit the sack but woke up around 3:15am and I couldn’t sleep from there. I rested in bed getting up about 5:45am. I may as well do something.

So I’ve got a coffee and a side drink of cola.

[ I left out of here locking the place up getting my stuff and I headed into the Pharmacy and got my 6/49 ticket I had enough for a Max but I wanted some extra spending cash anyway and I bought a 6/49 for the $12M draw this evening. Incidentally somebody won the $50M Jackpot. There were also 10 $1M quick pick draws in there as well but best I could ever do was to get maybe 2 numbers. This was the max first $50M full prize.]

Ok getting back to my Friday night, the afternoon shift was just wrapping up with moments to spare. I got my dialer and the empties. We were really short shifted this evening but we had the back 20 more or less full and they opened up the other side for another 20 doing MM. We tap shooters ended up doing CCSD. They put bonus money up there on the white board but the expectation s to get it are really tough. I hadn’t had any bonus money in the last several weeks. I do get about 20 pop cans and plastic bottles to take home and I got my paycheck which is almost always right. I left out of there feeling pretty good and after a bit of a wait I got my #5 bus with one of the newer older fellows up to my bank did my banking and I caught the train home without incident.

Anne was home when I got in and made me something to eat while I watched the rest of the Esks/BC game. The Esks were 17/10 in the last minutes of the 2^nd quarter. The Esks blew it open after that to win 45-13. Love it. So now Warren owes me $4. Hehehe.

Also some office gossip. Apparently bm is on his way out as word around the office is saying that HO is trying to buy him out for something like $250K. He’s got maybe 8 weeks left in his contract. It seems he’s got an office in the North end selling calendars that goes towards 11 different charities. At least that’s what Warren told me. I mean if I get offered to go there say for afternoons as long as I can be in time for my regular job, I might consider it.

On the way out of the office at the elevator, I ran into a guy with a William Gibson book in his hand. The difference engine. “Cyber Punk,” I opinionated. “real people don’t talk that way.” We had a brief chat and he said it’s Victorian. My eyes lit up, “Steampunk. That’s different.” I Haven’t read any Steampunk yet and I’m willing to give it a try.

Last night in local news Stats Can released new unemployment numbers. Seems we’re now at 7.7% unemployment rate here in Edmonton. This time last year we were at 3.8% something. The province is at 7.8% but we are holding out to be the lowest in the country. Still that’s not very promising since last month we were at 7.1%. I’m lucky I got a job.

Today I’m in for a full 6 hour shift to make up for missing Thursday. It’s still only going to give me 21.5. This was what was on this paycheck.
