Today marks the 46th anniversary of the assassination of JFK. Now I wasn’t a JFK fan or anything but the anniversary always evokes a sense of nostolga in me. Being a bit of an amateur JFK assassination researcher, I was surprised to notice the Dealey plaza webcam in the JFK Museum. The webcam sits within the SE corner window of the 6th floor Texas Schoolbook depository building over looking Dealey plaza. For years the view from within the “snipers nest” was at best a jerky Java scripted roaming image of Dealey plaza. Yesterday I noticed the webcam is now in real time. This is really cool and offers the viewer a better viewing experience.
Despite the first snow overnight yesterday, waiting for my bus it was relatively mild. You can see my #11 bus heading up the street. I had some other pictures but none of them did anything for me
Not much o my plate today. I might catch that Stampeders/CFL game. Do some piano practice or maybe just play some xbox. I haven’t done that in awhile.
From yesterday: This morning it was very icy out there. I got my Tim’s and the new Security guard had stacked about 6 of us waiting at the elevator to go upstairs but because of the break-ins we’ve had recently, none of us could get out seats until we got authorization. About 10 minutes later Gerry came by and used his key to let us upstairs.
I had my Tim’s breakfast sausage and 2 hash browns and coffee. I had a good start pulling in a few cards and ended up with about $355 and 4 cards by break. My last card at break was a $100 card. I stayed for the afternoon shift. They couldn’t get any to work the back 20 and there were just 5 of us tap shooters. Again another slow start but I got 2 more cards for 6 on the day for about $200 on card and $685 for a total. I left out of there feeling alright.
Sigh I don’t now what’s up with those Oiler’s. Ok they did a bit better then Calgary hosting the Hawks the other night. Still 5-2. Yes the Oilers have lost more game days to injuries then any other team in the league. 129 to be exact. Now the teams starting goal tender is out. Even the Hockey night in Canada were talking about the Oiler’s woes.
I got up with back pain about 1:30pm and took a pill and within 15 minutes felt a lot better. I watched the last quarter of the Lions/Montreal CFL game, Montreal won 56-18. They had something like 55 thousand fans in attendance. At the Stampeder’s/Regina game, also a full house. Regina won 27-17. I had 2 double or nothing bets going this weekend. Yesterday when the Oiler’s hosted Chicago 5-2 and when Calgary was in Regina, as the Stamp’s lost. So that’s $8 bucks tossed out the window. Luckily for me, I can cover my bets. I’ve got $7 bucks here and Jatin owes me about $3 because he didn’t want to break a $20.
Anne made us a nice brunch 40 minutes ago and I’m going to try and read for the rest of the night. There’s a JFK documentary about the target car. It’s on now but repeats for latter. So I’m going to read until that comes on.
