Pledges is off to be cremated this weekend. We said our finale goodbyes

I’ve been looking at a lot of smartphones recently and flip- flopping between the Storm 2, Iphone 3Gs, HTC hd2. I like the HTC because it’s a larger screen. The Storm 2 has a dedicated wifi application. Well they all do. The Iphone I like the best because it has access to itunes. I don’t’ know yet when I’ll be ready to buy but it’s going to be one of the above 3 phones.

Today, Anne is going to give Pledges to the cremation guy. Pledges has been in the freezer for the last 4 weeks. We only have the money to do this today. I know it sounds morbid but she wanted to have a picture with him and her together one last time before his body is consumed and put in a urn.

The good news is we’re going to get Boots fixed up next Friday. Or at least we’re going to try. Anne’s out there calling for him now. He’s out and about somewhere.

I briefly had a chat with a fellow on the train holding a copy of Stephen King’s “Gunslinger” series in hard cover. I asked him how he likes it and he said it’s a bit confusing. Before I buy this series I want to pick up a copy at Audrey’s and read through it to sample its style readability etc. One of the Amazon.ca reviews had said the book was confusing as well. So over the next few weeks I’ll read a few pages at a time at the store and see if it grabs me. The reviews of the “Gunslinger” are mixed from 5 stars to 2.

I slept a little better overnight and this morning. The man to take Pledges apparently called and is on his way this afternoon so Pledges can be cremated. The fellow just buzzed and Anne gave Pledges to him at the door. There went 18 years of my life. June 1991-Oct 2009. A lot of memories were associated with that cat. The Oiler’s still had Mark Messier in their line up. I was still living at my old bachelor apartment chasing after Mary. I was still 39 just about to turn 40 when I got Pledges. My parents were still alive and so was my brother Rick.

It’s getting harder to acquire my regular seat because of the staff that work from 1-9 but they still don’t utilize the back area. Tonight when I go in I’ll go through my shift get my paycheck and keep an eye on the Oiler/SJ game leave out of there to get my banking done go home and relax for Saturday’s long shift. But after work on Saturday I’ll head over to Audrey’s and get my book and Saturday night is the Oiler/Vancouver game. Sunday is the Grey Cup game. Lets go Riders!

I’ll miss you Pledges
