Back to Monday after a "weekend"

Ok, I’m slowly trying to learn how to use this Word Processor from a laptop point of view. If a desktop keyboard is automatic transmission like on a car, then a laptop keyboard is Standard. A lot of using the clutch and shifting gears. Well at least for me that’s how it seems it is during the laptop keyboard learning curve. Even more so now that I’m learning an entirely new OS. It’s still the standard Qwerty keyboard layout but some keys have disappeared from what I’m used to that is.

Anyway Anne and I left out of here yesterday at 1pm. We got good timing on to Clairview Station all the way down to South Campus station in the bitter cold. We had to take a bus to Clairview Station, the Lrt to South Campus, another bus from South Campus, To Southgate Mall, then the #17 to Century Park, which on a Sunday changes at Century Park to the #74 and we were within a block of Best Buy by about 2:45pm-ish. We made better timing because we didn’t take that #9. On a Sunday no less with reduced service. We made it to our destination sooner on a Sunday then we did on a Thursday!

Customer service at Best Buy was really good to us. I got a replacement laptop same as before and router. Coming back the short block distance we missed the #74 so we had about a 40 minute wait for the next one. Bye this time the temperature had dropped to around -17. We were dressed for the weather that’s for sure. Anne warmed up in a nearby Tommy store and came out 10 minutes before the bus back to Southgate swung by before us. I stood and sat point outside in the shelter watching for the return bus reading from “Rainbow’s end.” Our destination was the Sawmill resturant. We needed to get there before “happy hour” to get the discount. We took the short bus there (I recall taking this route to Memory Express last April for Ram for the desktop.)

Anne wasn’t at all impressed with her meal. Her “prime rib” was very disappointing and really over priced. My bacon cheeseburger though was really good. After our $44 meal, which we thought was way over priced we would have been better off to have had supper at the Boston Piazza just across the street hear. Anyway, that’s it for today.
