Trying to get moving

I felt a little drained heading into work yesterday afternoon as cold as it was. I didn’t have long to wait for a city bus either. That’s one nice thing about living here in a winter city like Edmonton, unless your stuck out in the boonies stranded somewhere, there’s always a bus nearby.

I had a great evening on the job last night pulling in a $600 l/h total and 4 cards for a $155 total on card. No bonus money at all. Also we had the Oiler/Tampa Bay game on TV, watching the game as I‘m making sales, and drinking diet cola all night. I got all the empties as well. I read on the train home, happy the Oiler’s won in a shootout 3-2, which makes it their third win a row.

On Coast, they are talking about John Lennon and the Billy Meirer’s case. Not a bad show tonight but I don't agree with the skeptic on some issues...........Well, I’m glad I was able to sleep in this morning, however the plan is for tomorrow and Thursday afternoon 1-9. Anne brought it to my attention that we’re most likely off for Christmas eve so I’ll be getting 4 days off over the holidays. Wonderful!

At SF Signal they are giving high praise for Stephen King’s latest novel “Under the dome.” From reading the review, this looks like a story I’d like to get into reading as well. A thousand plus pages seems somewhat daunting but I like long works.

Anne just got a call from the pet crematorium that Pledges is on his way home. Well his ashes that is. This to me at least spells ultimate closer over a saga that has lasted since his death October 23rd. It‘s been hard on me but especially hard on my wife, who really loved this cat even more then some of her own. Pledges would, sit on the couch cushion as Anne enjoyed pruning his fur. Pledges really loved me as well, often we’d watch wrestling together and he’d come up to me leaning in the couch and him beside me, he’d put his nose in my nostrils licking my chin, just giving it to me. I’ve never seen a more loving cat to his owner before. It’s sad to think what became of him that fateful day Friday October 23rd. I’m just relieved that he’s not in any pain.

Ok on to other business. Today I’m in for my 5-9. No Oiler game last meant 2 points in the standings for the Copper & Blue. Now it’s time to go get ready for my shower, shave and some lunch before my afternoon commute.
