Wow, it’s going to be a cold one going into work this morning. Our current temperature as I’m typing this at 6:15am is -30/-42 wind chill but when I’m in my little bus shelter waiting for my 9am commute, it’ll be
-32, with no change in wind chill! This evening if I should venture out to our office party, it’s going to be -36. Keep in mind that this isn’t normal winter here in Edmonton. The deep freeze is supposed to last a few days by Tuesday we’ll be back to our usual -18’s. The good news is by this time next weekend, the weather channel is forecasting +1’s and +2’s for my morning commute.
This will help Anne as she has Boot’s scheduled for his operation next week. So as much as I love Pledges and always will, we’re (hopefully) going to have a new addition to our family, if all goes well.
I still haven’t received my give-a-way contest book from Pat’s Fantasy hotlist yet. imagine the book should be here before New Years what with seasonal mail being what it is. I’ve got one Aleister Reynolds book on my shelf “Pushing ice.” I’ve read some of his short fiction as well.
So the world leaders have been in Copenhagen for the big climate change summit this past week/weekend. This Blogger is asking, where is local Greenpeace activist Mike Hudema? How come he’s not chained to a oilsands truck up there in -32 Fort McMurray weather this morning protesting the “evil oilsands” that provide work for (directly and in directly) tens of thousands of Albertans? Or at least sending in his foreign foot soldiers onto private property to get criminal records he himself wont risk getting? No doubt our local hypocrite is in nearby Amsterdam picking up a fat bonus check for all the trouble he caused earlier this fall or sleeping one off in some Copenhagen hotel after a night out hob-knobbing with “climate change” scientists too afraid to speak out against the hypocrisy of this junk science of so called “climate change/global warming” itself. My guess is though Mike’s passed out under his comfy down filled comforter laughing at us working lots that need to be on the LRT this morning to get to work just to pay the rent. But good old Mike boy is snuggled under his blankey with his significant other dreaming just how much more trouble he can cause, how many more people caused by his actions can be laid off so future generations can have “clean air?” If anything the next stunt Hudema pulls off in the name of Greenpeace he ought to get put in the slammer for eco terrorism but this Stalmach Government hasn’t the balls to go that far. Hmm, maybe he’s lying low at the moment for that reason. This whole Copenhagen “climate change” crap brings bile to my mouth. So what am I doing to counter Mike and Greenpeace in my backyard? I’m letting the public know through my website that Greenpeace Canada is a non tax deductible charity for one thing. Also, I’m dropping off notes leaving them on the LRT and buses so people get the message that Greenpeace Canada is non tax deductible. Meaning that people wont get a tax receipt if they make a donation to this organization. I realize this isn;t going to do anything to boost my popularity but this is my cause my website. In my own small way I’m fighting back.
Global news last night (our local affiliate) reported their top Sports story to be the Oiler’s 5 game on the road win record. Why is this so important you might ask? Well since the day of the Oiler’s first official NHL game Oct. 10th 1979 up and to last nights game, the game last night made this a club record. The first time ever the Oiler’s have won 5 road games back-to-back. But, it still doesn’t get them to the last 8th place playoff cut line. However it’s too early yet in the season.
