Might be a short Saturday today |
|
I like this little Acer laptop I’m using but I don’t like the mouse touch pad. I’m looking at getting an external USB laptop mouse soon.
I was feeling exhausted about 12:30am this morning so I went to bed and slept until Anne came in and had little trouble falling asleep after that. I got up about 40 minutes ago and I’m trying to wake up with a coffee.
I think this is how I’m going to go today: If I’m closing in on line hour, then I’ll stay until 4:30pm but if it looks like I’m struggling then I’ll leave at 2pm go out for a bite to eat and then come home. If the day is good to me then I’ll stay the extra 2 hours. Anne starts at 4pm-7pm. I know I didn’t have any luck at BP’s (Boston Piazza’s) Jasper Ave location last Saturday. I could say after 2pm head as far as BP’s across the street up here go to the bar and nurse a bear and have a burger and watch the Oiler game. We’ll see how it goes.
Weather we’ve had it pretty good here for the last 2 weeks. The long range looks like the good weather trend should continue until the end of the month. We’re going to get a few cold days in the next 14 but nothing like -20 or anything like that. But never say never with the weather here in Northern Alberta. Like anywhere, just when you think your settling in the weather throws a curve ball at you to shake you out of your comfort zone. I‘m still trudging through SF The years best 2006. So far the first 3 stories are lame. There’s a Joe Haldeman story coming up next. The James Patrick Kelley story I’m reading now isn’t doing anything for me.
Once in a while if the 6/49 draw is a decent jackpot I’ll by a ticket. Tonight’s Saturday draw is an estimated $8M. $2 isn’t going to break the bank so I may as well go get a ticket on my way home. Nobody won the Max yesterday so next Friday it’s worth $15M. I usually wait until the Max is something like $20M before I buy because then they give you 2 extra quick picks.
My numbers last week o n the job were decent pulling in a $700 and a $1,000 day for two days last week. This week doing OTH I‘m lucky if I can make a $240 line hour and even then I‘m struggling with that. But they keep me employed because they know in this revolving door economy I‘m worth I‘m worth at least $1,000G to them/year.
I almost forgot, it's on the job Saturday morning. Over the past several weekends a crowd of us have been gathering in the Baker Center lobby because of some break in's in our office. Security wont let us upstairs. Nobody with a magnetic key is allowed upstairs via the elevator and the stairwell is closed. Super usually wanders in about 10 before the hour. Last Saturday I was there with my Tim's and my breakfast was getting cold. Today, I'm having my breakfast at Tim's so I'm not left standing around 20 minutes.
