Big post Saturday, all kinds of crap

For once, I had a decent nights sleep over night for a Friday and I’m ready for a full 6 hours. I’ll have 29 hours on my pay check next week. Yesterday I got my bonus money, all my hours and my stat pay so yesterdays pay check was decent enough. I did some banking and headed home. I didn’t have much of a nap yesterday afternoon when I got home but

I had a great night doing some Masonic research. I kind of knew about this but didn’t pay it much attention because I thought the Allied Masonic degrees were fringe Freemasonry (FM) an American invention that did not apply to Canadians. I was surprised we have a local chapter here and one of my lodge brothers is an officer in AMD. Interesting. In researching these degrees I discovered that there is some prerequisite connection to Royal Arch Masonry (RAM) I’ve had a petition here to join RAM as one of the Lodge brothers dropped it off to me a few years ago. I think 3 now and I’ve been sitting on it since then. The thing about AMD is it’s by invitation only and I don’t know what that process is to get an invite to join.

Also last night of course I watched Team Canada barely squeeze by Team Slovakia to get a chance to play Sunday against USA for the gold. It was an amazing game. That would have been a great game to see USA/Slovakia but like most Canadian hockey fans I’m a little biased. If Canada wins the gold on Sunday it would be the first time Canada won Gold in ice hockey here at home.

City of Pearl so far doesn’t seem to be too bad. My Goodreads friend Greyweather and I are talking a bit about it. It’s on his to read list but he has several other books going on before he gets to it. Most likely even with that me being such a slow reader and all, he’ll have his copy read before I finish mine. It’s not a race or anything.

March is going to be chalk full of things going on here. Wednesday we have the NHL trade deadline. I’ve got a Scottish Rite Lodge I want to visit with as I‘ve never been to a Scottish Rite lodge. It‘s at Highlands. Also AMD and RAM is at Highlands as well. Then the following Thursday is out own lodge night. I want to put more hours in at work. Then we got daylight savings time going on 2 weeks from this Sunday. I‘ve got a lunch date with one of the guys at work, Warren. Then it‘s my wife‘s birthday Tuesday March 16th so I‘ll be going out with her and her sister Donna is paying her/us a visit. Then March 18 2 days after my wife’s birthday we have an emergent meeting as we’re proving up a brother MM in the Lodge. I usually do the oral exams for this. I ask the questions he gives the answers type thing. Plus I hope to also provide the role of JD again. So march for me is going to be a busy month. Well at least the first half then I can relax a bit but right after that is Wrestlemania March 28th.

Speaking about FM I’d like to join eventually join Redwood. It’s a Scottish Rite Lodge. I’d also like to join the RAM lodge, they meet the fourth Thursday of each month. I’d also like to have Anne and I join Eastern Star as well but we’re sort of up against it this year budget wise. She’d like to join but we need to get a few things under control here first before we do anything like that. I’d like to in the meantime join RAM and submit my petition in when I get my income tax funds. If I can get the petition in for RAM in their secretary’s hands in May, they’ll ballot me in for June and I can take the Mark Master degree in September. That’d be nice.

I also want to get an MP3 player as well out of my income tax funds and I‘ve been looking at several models. It‘s probably not necessary to have the SD memory card but it would be nice to have. An external speaker is a must. I think it has and also has wifi as well and access to Itunes and yes it has an external speaker. I‘d get the 16Gb version although the 64Gb version is nice too. There‘s about a $100 price difference between these players from the 8Gb to the 32Gb and the 64Gb. So this Spring it‘s the MP3 player and the RAM petition.

Last night on Coast Ian was filling in for George, which means Ian had another soft show and this weekend is a washout as far as anything good Coast wise is concerned. Last night’s show Hollywood memories and tonight’s show, origins of Forensic medicine, boring! Sunday’s show is a little better but not much with the topic being about folklore and Bigfoot. The only good show coming up is on Thursday with Richard C. Hoagland and a discussion on Nasa. That’s about it. An unusual and boring kind of a week for Coast.

This story on the Coast website caught my eye. It’s about a company in Australia that is making personalized jet packs. Yeah right, for $50G you could be whipping around in your own jet pack. Yeah right. Try taking something like that on your morning commute. I don’t think so. Maybe when you can buy one off the shelves at Walmart for about $1,000 bucks that straps on your back like a back pack, maybe. You can see the full article on today’s Coat website. It might be there for a couple more days yet. I’m too lazy at the moment to put up a link and I got to post this and get ready for work. Anyway that’s all for now.
