Life without mice

can be difficult especially when using computers. It's a whole new learning curve when substituting keyboard shortcuts for a computer mouse. Not even Mousekeys works for me. The problem began Sunday morning when my mouse curser pointer locked up on me. The device manager or whaterver said the mouce was working fine. It's a Labtec optical USB mouse that was working, no problem. One of the guys at work had told me there is a reset button on the back of the mouse. I tried this and got nothing. I looked all over the web and found no solution. Now I can't even get the optical laser on the mouse to work. I tried uninstalling and installing the software several times over and nothing. The mouse I was using before was a PS/2 mouse but when Anne was moving cables around here one day she ripped the mouse I had out of the socket and damaged the pins in that mouse rendering it useless. However, I'm not without a solution here. The Labtec USB mouse came with a PS/2 adapter and it fits. No problems, meaning the PS/2 connection at the back of this computer is ok. Maybe it's as simple as buying another PS/2 mouse, install and see what happnes. The other thing is, I might have a configuration issue or a bug in my system. I can get a PS/2 mouse anywhere for about $15. That was money needed for something else.

Alright on that not I was going to go in for this afternoon but Anne was doing laundry. This is an all day adventure as she began about 3pm and took 12 hours to do. The washing only takes a few hours, it's the drying that takes up real time. Fortunatley fo us we have had our own washer/dryer in our apartment.

Basically, this was one of the main reasons why I couldn't go in for the afternoon shift. Wednesday is a different day though and so is Thursday and Friday afternoon. Saturday is a half day because i'm bringing my laptop to work so after we can go to his place (a few blocks away from the office) and work on getting my laptop fixed. I still can't use it safely until I get an antivirus package and I can get that from Future shop. It's just one thing after another around here. Anyway, that's about all for now.
