I’m having a decent couple of days here

and all our snow on the ground as of 2 weeks ago is gone. Today’s post has a rant in it so be warned.

Last night at work while the calls were slow I was able to catch glimpses of the Oiler’s/Detroit hockey game. I noticed the score at 4-0 although I couldn’t read what period it was in. Then it was 4-2 Wings. Then tied at 4. Wow. Then the announcers were chirping away how Detroit hadn’t beat the Oiler’s this year. Then at 18:54 Detroit scored a controversial goal. The goal was under review because the “officials” couldn’t determine if the player’s stick was above or even with the crossbar of the net. The goal was allowed even after a lengthy review. I think the goal was allowed based on one sole criteria: Detroit hadn’t beaten the Oiler’s all season and the Commissioner couldn’t stand to see a team like the Oiler’s win all three or four contests against an Eastern team (that’s another story) Detroit basically had to save face. The game was all but tied on a controversial goal that the game should have been decided in OT. Thanks Gary. Now if that goal was the Oiler‘s at the same time their goal would not have been allowed so Detroit could take the game into OT and a flimsy penalty against the Oiler’s would have decided the game. I’d have settled on a clean Detroit goal in regulation or OT. To decide the game. In other words folks the officiating decided the outcome of the game not the teams. Another heartache of a loss for the Oiler‘s. But these kinds of shenanigans have been going on all season long for the Oiler’s.

Cern is getting ready to vamp up the LHC  proton collisions to 7Tv soon and hope to discover some interesting particles. They are going to take the LHC offline for about a week before firing this thing up for a major run..

That rant is over with. I‘m sitting here relaxing in my big chair having a coffee. Anne‘s going into work for her weekly afternoon shift. We had Boots sleep in with us overnight and I had a good sleep even though I woke up with a bit of a stiff neck though.

Today I‘m in at 4pm but in at 1pm tomorrow. I should have 25.5 hours in plus my stat pay for Good Friday and my pay check as well to take home. However I didn’t plan this week very well. I only realized this Monday that Good Friday is this week. I should have put the full day in Monday and planned to work Thursday morning. This way I could have gone to the Lodge meeting I‘m going to miss now to pay for Wrestlemania.

I‘m still working through the first 100 pages of “Crossing the line“ by Karen Traviss. It‘s really good. Anyway, that‘s all for now.
